Elmer T. White, 84

March 1, 2013

Elmer T. White, 84, of 1127 Princeton Ave. in Celina, passed away at 4:27 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 27, 2013, at the Gardens at Celina.

He was born on Oct. 11, 1928, in Black Creek Township to the late Elmer C. and Violet (Steen) White.

On Nov. 24, 1949, he married Helen Marie Edinger, who lives in Celina.

Also surviving are his children, Linda (Ken) Doner of Celina, Bob (Joan) White of Sidney, Mary (Paul) Grandlienard of Bluffton, Ind., Nancy (Daniel) Wheeler of Celina; 10 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; a brother; a sister.

John F. “Jack” Kuffner, 84

John F. “Jack” Kuffner, 84, of St. Marys, died on Thursday, Feb. 28, 2013, at his residence.

He was born on March 23, 1928, in Washington D.C., the son of Fred and Dr. Elizabeth (Yahl) Kuffner.

He married Alma Shaw on July 26, 1953, and she survives at the residence.

John E. “Jack” Thees, 69

John E. “Jack” Thees, 69, of Celina, died at 8:43 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 27, 2013, at his residence, of natural causes.

He was born on Nov. 13, 1943, in Celina, to parents Myron and Ruth (Christian) Thees, both of whom preceded him in death.

On July 22, 1967, he married Carol Kincaid Thees, who survives.

Albert H. Sutter, 72

Albert H. Sutter, 72, of Mendon, passed away on Wednesday, Feb. 27, 2013, at the Van Wert Area Inpatient Hospice Center.

He was born on Oct. 12, 1940, in Coldwater, to Albert and Rosina (Buschor) Sutter.

He married Lena Carpenter on Jan. 2, 1985, and she survives.

Also surviving are two sons, Daniel Sutter of Portland, Ind., and Stanley (Jenny) Sutter of St. Henry; a daughter, Denise (Bill) Bremeck of Dublin; a stepdaughter, Holli (Lonnie) Enderud of St. Marys; eight grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; eight brothers and sisters.

Robert E. Bonvillian, 65

Robert E. Bonvillian, 65, of Celina, died on Tuesday. Feb. 26, 2013, at his residence, due to a fire.

He was born on Feb. 7, 1948, in Coldwater, to parents Richard and stepmother Jo Bonvillian, who preceded him in death, and mother Delores Stein, who also preceded him in death.

He is survived by a son, Jeff and friend Julie Rodriguez Bonvillian of Celina; by a stepson, Jason and Brandy Muter of Anna; two daughters, Kim and Harold Fiely of Fort Recovery and Carrie and Steve Homan of Fort Recovery; four brothers; one sister; 11 grandchildren.

Bertha M. Bradley, 89

Bertha M. Bradley, 89, of St. Marys died at 9:35 a.m. Monday, Feb. 25, 2013, at the home of her niece, Angie Young.  

She was born on Feb. 9, 1924, in Whitely County, Ky., to the late Allen and Angeline Goley Roller.  

Bertha was a homemaker who enjoyed working in her yard and visiting with her family and friends.

Louise “Lil” Wagner, 92

Louise “Lil” Wagner, 92, formerly of North Garfield Street, Minster, passed away at 10:35 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 26, 2013, at Elmwood in New Bremen, where she had been a resident for two and a half years.

She was born on Dec. 3, 1920, in St. Patrick to Louis and Anna (Hoying) Raterman. On Aug. 4, 1942, she married Wallace B. Wagner Sr. He died on Feb. 10, 1995.

Shirley Ann (Schwieterman) Mertz, 78

Shirley Ann (Schwieterman) Mertz, 78, passed away at 10:50 a.m. Monday, Feb. 25, 2013, at home surrounded by her family.

She was born on Dec. 28, 1934, to the late Charles and Hilda (Marx) Schwieterman.

She married William A. Mertz on June 23, 1954. They had nine children.

She was preceded in death by a son, William B. Mertz.

Leonard E. “Leo” Hauser, 66

Leonard E. “Leo” Hauser, 66, of Wapakoneta died at 9 a.m. Sunday, Feb. 24, 2013, at Mt. Carmel St. Ann’s Hospital, Westerville after battling cancer.

He was born on Dec. 21, 1946, in Los Angeles, to Byron A. and Merle V. (Kelly) Hauser who preceded him in death.

He is survived by two daughters and a son, Ellen (Michael) Engle of Wapakoneta, Elaine (Amy) Hauser and Byron A. Hauser, both of Columbus; three grandchildren; two brothers.

Owen Michael Moran, of Wapakoneta, died on Monday, Feb. 25, 2013, shortly after birth at the Mary Rutan Hospital in Bellefontaine.  

He was the son of Jacob and Nichole (Phillips) Moran of Wapakoneta.
