Linda Gowthrop, 57, of Beech Island, S.C., formerly of Angola, Ind., passed away on Friday, Dec. 2, 2011, at her sister’s home in Bryan.
Linda was born on June 19, 1954, in Fort Eustis, Va., to John and Barbara (Burden) Simpson, and her father preceded her in death. Her mother survives her in Bryan.
On May 11, 2002, she married Michael Gowthrop, and he survives her in Beech Island, S.C.
Ralph E. Pickering Sr., 77, of New Bremen, died at 3:45 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 4, 2011, at the Kindred Hospital in Lima.
He was born on June 24, 1934, in West Alexandria, the son of Karl V. and Eva G. (Roach) Pickering, and they preceded him in death.
On Dec. 21, 1957, he married Emilie J. Lininger, and she survives him near New Bremen.
Leona A. Steinemann, 92, of 02725 Minster Fort Recovery Road, Minster, died at 6:49 a.m. Monday, Dec. 5, 2011, at Elmwood Nursing Center in New Bremen.
She was born on Jan. 26, 1919, in Fort Loramie, to John and Anna (Schlater) Borchers, and they preceded her in death.
On Jan. 31, 1940, at St. Michael Church in Fort Loramie, she married Carl B. (Jim) Steinemann, and he preceded her in death on Aug. 30, 2007.
Timothy Wayne Rickard, 60, of Mendon, died at 10:30 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 30, 2011, in Columbus.
He was born on April 4, 1951, in Lima, to Donald M. and Ruth Ann Emans Rickard, and they preceded him in death.
He was previously married to Martha Mihm Day and Monica Gamble Pabst. On July 29, 2001, he married Mary Frances Burnett Swickrath, and she survives him in Mendon.
Jacob Lewis Limbert, stillborn, died at 3:55 a.m. Sunday, Dec. 4, 2011, at Miami Valley Hospital in Dayton.
He was the son of Scott and Julie (Fullenkamp) Limbert, and they survive him in Minster.
He is also survived by a sister, Makaylee Limbert; his grandparents, Dan and Beck Fullenkamp of Maria Stein and Ray and Mary Ann Limbert of Botkins; his great-grandparents, Nancy Vehorn of New Bremen, Othmar and Mary Fullenkamp of Maria Stein and Eileen Welsch of St. Anthony.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Elizabeth Marie Limbert.
John Milton Buterbaugh, 84, of 6761 Debra Ave., Celina, died at 3:25 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 4, 2011, at the Laurels of Shane Hill in Rockford.
He was born on Aug. 6, 1927, in Hagerstown, Md., to John N. and Corrine (Reightler) Buterbaugh, and they preceded him in death.
On. Feb. 23, 1952, he married Joy Tyson, and she survives him in Celina.
He is also survived by his children, Gary (Deb) Buterbaugh of Mechanicsburg, Pa., Lori (Michael) Prude of West Palm Beach, Fla., and Jill Cherni of Celina; seven grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; a sister.
Darrel M. Smith, 81, of Celina, died at 2:07 a.m. Monday, Dec. 5, 2011, at the Laurels of Shane Hill in Rockford.
He was born on Feb. 16, 1930, in Mercer County, to Cleveland Smith and Elizabeth Dumbald, and they preceded him in death.
On Sept. 26, 1953, he married Ruth L. Boroff, and she survives him.
He is also survived by a son, Gregory (Carol) Smith of Celina; a granddaughter.
He was preceded in death by two sisters.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, having served in the Korean War.
Frederick J. Schmitmeyer, 88, of South Lincoln Street, Minster, passed away on Thursday, Dec. 1, 2011, at Joint Township District Memorial Hospital in St. Marys of natural causes.
He was born on Jan. 25, 1923, in Minster to Emma (Thieman) and Henry Schmitmeyer. On Aug. 23, 1947, at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Coldwater, he married Alberta (Wellman) Schmitmeyer.
Billie J. Pinson, 78, of 4710 Mud Pike, Celina, passed away at 9:56 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 1, 2011, at Van Wert Inpatient Hospice Center in Van Wert.
She was born on March 3, 1933, in Summit, W.Va., to Benjamin and Brady (Massey) Lafferdy.
On April 21, 1951, she married her husband of 60 years, Clarence Pinson, who lives in Celina.
Mary Lou Nagel, 84, of 217 Sturgeon St. in St. Marys, died at 11 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 1, 2011, at Joint Township District Memorial Hospital in St. Marys.
She was born on July 18, 1927, in St. Marys, to Edwin and LaVere (Hudson) Martin.
In 1958, she married LeRoy L. Nagel, who survives.
She is also survived by: three sons, David Nagel of Bowling Green, Kim (Kay) Nagel of Union City, Tenn., Kevin Nagel of St. Marys; 11 grandchildren 17 great-grandchildren.
