Jean M. Lewis, 73, died suddenly after a brave fight against a very aggressive cancer on Thursday, Nov. 3, 2011, at St. Rita’s Medical Center. She had recently returned to Bluffton to enjoy her retirement.
She was born on Aug. 30, 1938, the daughter of Charles Bernard Lewis and Catherine Bockrath, and they preceded her in death.
Alice J. Gengler, 85, of Coldwater, died at 6:47 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 3, 2011, at Briarwood Village in Coldwater.
She was born on Nov. 29, 1925, in Dayton, to the late Edward H. and Elnora E. (Borgerding) Kemper, and they preceded her in death.
On June 28, 1952, in St. Henry, she married James N. Gengler, and he preceded her in death on Feb. 12, 2005.
Dale Eversman, 30, of rural New Bremen, died on Thursday, Nov. 3, 2011, at his residence.
Auglaize County Coroner Dr. Thomas R. Freytag has ordered that an autopsy be performed to determine the cause of his death.
Arrangements are entrusted to the Miller Funeral Homes in St. Marys.
Roberta E. Barnes, 94, of 11110 Circle Drive, St. Marys, died 6:06 p.m. Friday, Oct. 28, 2011, at Otterbein—St. Marys Retirement Community.
She was born on April 24, 1917, in Willow Springs, Mo., to Frank and Carrie Bell (Ball) Ruby, and they preceded her in death.
She is survived by her son, Patrick E. Baze of Kill Devil Hills, N.C.; a grandson; various nieces and nephews.
Private family services and burial are planned.
John W. Robbins, 69, of Celina, died on Tuesday, Nov. 1, 2011, at Joint Township District Memorial Hospital.
He was born on April 13, 1942, to Roy A. and Opal G. (Monroe) Robbins, and they preceded him in death.
On May 7, 1977, he married Naomi Hover, and she preceded him in death on July 14, 2009.
He is survived by a son, Dwayne (Kimberly) Beal of Germantown; a brother; a sister; a brother-in-law; a sister-in-law; five grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Teresa Beal.

Mark A. Brandewie, 73, of 276 S. Hanover St., Minster, died at 3:34 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 1, 2011, at OSU Medical Center in Columbus.
He was born on Dec. 18, 1937, in Egypt, to Carl and Odelia (Cron) Brandewie, and they preceded him in death.
On Oct. 10, 1959, in Minster, he married Sharon L. Bachman, and she preceded him in death on Aug. 7, 2009.
He is survived by his children, Jeff Brandewie, Jon (Sue) Brandewie, Jennifer Salm and Jaime (Rob) Hemmelgarn, all of Minster; 12 grandchildren; three brothers; a sister-in-law.
Donald E. Shroyer, 64, of Wapakoneta, died at 12:25 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 2, 2011, at St. Rita’s Medical Center in Lima.
He was born on April 5, 1947, in Bellefontaine, to Donald C. and Jennie (Miller) Shroyer, and they preceded him in death.
On Jan. 14, 1967, he married Patricia K. Evans, and she survives in Wapakoneta.
He is also survived by a son, Jason E. (Karen) Shroyer of Bellbrook; three grandchildren; five siblings; two sisters-in-law; many nieces and nephews.
Donna J. Haines, 80, of 1414 Nagel St., St. Marys, died at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 2, 2011, at Joint Township District Memorial Hospital following a brief illness.
She was born on Jan. 18, 1931, in St. Marys, the daughter of Adrian “Hap” and Grace (Langsdon) Howell.
She married Richard Haines II on June 10, 1951, and he survives at the residence.

Ruth L. (Wollam) Casanova, 84, of Douglassville, Pa., formerly of Norton, died on Sunday, Oct. 30, 2011, at Pottstown Memorial Medical Center.
She was born in Hood River, Ore., to Harry and Gail (Hamilton) Wollam, and they preceded her in death.
She married Albert J. Casanova, and he preceded her in death.
She is survived by a sister; her loving family.
She was preceded in death by one son.
Private family services will be held. Burial will follow in Hamilton Bethel Cemetery in Union Township near Mendon.
Abigail Juliana Wells, infant, died on Tuesday, Nov. 1, 2011, at Children’s Memorial Hospital in Chicago, Ill., because of complications incurred during her birth.
She was born to Leighton and Mandi Wells, and her mother preceded her in death. Her father survives her.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. Friday at St. Augustine Catholic Church in Minster. Friends may call from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday at the Hogenkamp Funeral Home in Minster.
