James Lee “Jim” Settlemire, 90, formerly of Lima, passed away on Friday, April 25, 2014, at Otterbein – St. Marys.
He was born on Oct. 1, 1923, in Perry Township, Allen County, to Chester and Dolly (Marshall) Settlemire.
On Nov. 9, 1944, in Sloan, Iowa, he married Patricia Clark, who survives at Otterbein – St. Marys.
Barrett G. Kemp, 82, of 08304 Kruse Road, Wapakoneta, died at noon Thursday, April 24, 2014, at Hospice of Dayton.
He was born on Feb. 22, 1932, in Dayton, the son of Barrett M. and Gladys (Linkhart) Kemp.
He first married Patricia Picard, and she preceded him in death; he then married Shirley Glass McEvoy and she preceded him in death.
Patricia Ann “Pattie” Adams, 76, of Celina, died at 5 p.m. Tuesday, April 22, 2014, at the Gardens of Celina, of natural causes.
She was born on Feb. 17, 1938, in St. Marys, to parents Hershel and Helen (McDonald) Slemmons, both of whom preceded her in death.
On July 8, 1972, she married Robert “Bob” Adams, who survives in Celina.
Thea Rose Schmitt was stillborn on Saturday, April 12, 2014, at Miami Valley Hospital in Dayton.
She is survived by her parents, Rachel and Aaron Schmitt of 70 S. Lincoln St., Minster, OH, 45865, grandparents Dave and Mary Jo Stilwell and Pat and Karen Schmitt, aunts and uncles Samantha Stilwell, PJ and Cindy Stilwell and Amanda, Briana and Noelle Schmitt and great-grandparents James Ahrns, Jeanne and Frank Kuenning, Dorothy (the late Ralph) Schmitt, Doris and Paul Robinson and Susan (the late James) Stilwell.
Margaret M. Yahl, 102, formerly of 14780 Ohio 66 North in St. Marys, died at 5:20 p.m. Monday, April 21, 2014, at Celina Manor Nursing Home.
She was born on June 26, 1911, in Celina, to Carl and Freda (Clott) Hoenie.
On Sept. 19, 1940, at Zion Lutheran Church in St. Marys, she married Franklin Yahl, who died on Dec. 12, 1983.
Elden L. “Red” Stolzenburg, 87, of St. Marys, formerly of Wapakoneta, died at 9:44 a.m. Tuesday, April 22, 2014, in the Joint Township District Memorial Hospital Emergency Room, St. Marys.
He was born on April 11, 1927, in Wapakoneta, the son of Henry and Alpha (Myers) Stolzenburg, who preceded him in death.
On June 19, 1947, he married Mary Fogt, and she died on Jan. 8, 2002.
He later married Carol McDonald, and she survives.
Gwendolyn V. Burd, 90, of 1013 Cleveland Ave. in St. Marys, died at 12:01 p.m. Sunday, April 20, 2014, at her residence.
She was born on Jan. 10, 1924, in St. Marys, to Russell H. and Mabel M. (Parke) Young Sr.
On April 10, 1948, in Decatur, Ind., she married Harry L. Burd, Sr., who died on Dec. 1, 2005.
Nancy A. Koeper, 68, of 800 Bryarly Circle, St. Marys, died at 10:57 p.m. Sunday, April 20, 2014, at Lima Memorial Hospital, following a short illness.
She was born on Aug. 5, 1945, in Lima, the daughter of Melvin and Mildred (Thuman) Luedeke.
She married Kenneth Koeper on Sept. 21, 1963, at Saint Paul’s United Church of Christ in New Bremen.
She is survived by her husband, Kenneth Koeper, by her daughter, Kimberly (Dale) Miller of St. Marys, by a sister, Connie Frey of Celina and a brother, Thomas Luedeke of St. Marys.
Donald L. “Don” Method, 82, of rural New Knoxville, died at 11:29 p.m. Friday, April 18, 2014, in the ER Department of Joint Township District Memorial Hospital in St. Marys, following a sudden illness, with his daughter at his side.
He was born on May 23, 1931, in Warsaw, Ind., a son of Burdette Hartman and Helen Louise Crowl Method, who are deceased.
In 1949, he married Norma J. Slater, who is deceased, and in 1955, he married Patricia A. Jay, who is also deceased.
On Oct. 3, 1996, he married Letha A. Hager Hennon, who survives.
Margaret Ann (Sauner) Eing, 69, passed away on Friday, April 18, 2014.
She was born on Nov. 22, 1944, in Brown County, to the late Earl and Violet (Vance) Sauner.
She attended Memorial High School in St. Marys prior to graduating from Eastmoor High School in Columbus and received her bachelor’s degree in education from Ohio State University.
Margaret was a teacher with Whitehall City Schools before stepping away to raise her children. When she went back to work, she was employed with Sears Co. and later retired from BMW Financial Services.
