Billie J. Pinson, 78

Billie J. Pinson, 78, of 4710 Mud Pike, Celina, passed away at 9:56 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 1, 2011, at Van Wert Inpatient Hospice Center in Van Wert.

She was born on March 3, 1933, in Summit, W.Va., to Benjamin and Brady (Massey) Lafferdy.

On April 21, 1951, she married her husband of 60 years, Clarence Pinson, who lives in Celina.

Mary Lou Nagel, 84

Mary Lou Nagel, 84, of 217 Sturgeon St. in St. Marys, died at 11 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 1, 2011, at Joint Township District Memorial Hospital in St. Marys.

She was born on July 18, 1927, in St. Marys, to Edwin and LaVere (Hudson) Martin.

In 1958, she married LeRoy L. Nagel, who survives.

She is also survived by:  three sons, David Nagel  of Bowling Green, Kim (Kay) Nagel  of Union City, Tenn., Kevin Nagel  of St. Marys; 11 grandchildren   17 great-grandchildren.

Marie E. Wente, 90

Marie E. Wente, 90, of New Bremen, died on Thursday, Dec. 1, 2011, at Joint Township Hospital in St. Marys.

She was born on Aug. 1, 1921, in Maria Stein, the daughter of Fred and Helen (Walterbusch) Luebke. She was married on May 4, 1946, in Maria Stein to Leo R. Wente; he died on May 5, 1988.

John G. Wermert, 93, of St. Henry, formerly of St. Sebastian and Coldwater, died at 2:30 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 29, 2011, at The Gardens at St. Henry.

He was born on Nov. 3, 1918, in St. Sebastian, to Herman and Rosa (Severt) Wermert, and they preceded him in death. On May 2, 1942, in Coldwater, he married Mary Ann (Holdheide), and she preceded him in death on April 7, 2000.

Debbie Richeson, 58

Debbie Richeson, 58, of Spencerville, died at 8:59 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 29, 2011, at St. Rita’s Medical Center.

Funeral arrangements are incomplete at the Thomas E. Bayliff Funeral Home in Spencerville.

Lorraine Anne Becker Goodwin, 73

Lorraine Anne Becker Goodwin, 73, of Celina, died at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 26, 2011, at St. Rita’s Medical Center in Lima.

She was born on May 17, 1938, in St. Marys, to Harold Temple and Betty J. (Koehn) Temple Horton, and they preceded her in death.

On Nov. 10, 1961, she married Hubert P. Becker, and he preceded her in death on April 16, 1980. On Nov. 15, 1983, she married Robert W. Goodwin, and he preceded her in death on Aug. 1, 2010.

She is survived by a son, Hubert Todd Becker of Celina; three grandchildren.

Katherine C. Elsass, 85

Katherine C. “Katie” Elsass, 85, of Wapakoneta, died at 9:10 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 29, 2011, at her residence.  

She was born on April 7, 1926, in Auglaize County, to Bernard and Matilda (Volbert) Watercutter, and they preceded her in death.  

On Sept. 15, 1947, she married Ralph G. Elsass, and he preceded her in death on Dec. 10, 1994.

She is survived by three children, Michael (Teresa) Elsass of Columbus, Joyce (Michael) Schaub and Patty (Todd) Minnich, both of Wapakoneta; nine grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; a sister.

Mike Alge, 57, formerly of St. Marys, died on Sunday, Nov. 28, 2011, at University Medical Center in Ann Arbor, Mich.

Arrangements are being completed with the Miller – Long & Folk Funeral Home, 314 W. High St., in St. Marys.

Frank Engle, 51

Frank Engle, 51, passed away on Monday, Nov. 28, 2011, in Dayton. 

He was born on June 16, 1960, in Mendon, to Benjamin and Janice (Severns) Engle, and his mother preceded him in death. His father and stepmother, Betty, survive him in Celina.

On Feb. 14, 1998, in Dayton, he married Katherine Messer, and she survives him.

Daniel D. Young, 68, of Mendon, died at 5:25 p.m. Friday, Nov. 25, 2011, at the Laurels of Shane Hill Nursing Home.

He was born on Oct. 20, 1943, in Mercer County, the son of Harry Benjamin and Ida Ruth Dietch Young, and they preceded him in death.

On Sept. 6, 1965, he married Carolyn Ann Coffman, and she survives him.
