David Vernon Drummond passed away peacefully in his sleep at home, early on Saturday, Sept. 27, 2014.
He was born in Lima, in 1942 and grew up in St. Marys.
He leaves behind his wife of 47 years, Ruta of Ann Arbor, Mich.; sons Aaron (Amy) of Ann Arbor, Mich.; and Ryan (Lisa) of Richmond, Calif.; brother Nolan (Kenneth) of Canton, Conn.; nephew Elwin (Fay) of Australia; and three grandchildren, Lily, Danny, and Tommie.
Jackie L. Makley, 72, of 823 Hendricks Ave., St. Marys, died at 10:55 p.m. Friday, Oct. 3, 2014, at Joint Township District Memorial Hospital in St. Marys.
He was born on June 9, 1942, in St. Marys, the son of Charles and Gretchen (Zimmerman) Makley.
He is survived by his siblings, Bob (Doris) Makley of St. Marys, Charles Makley of Wapakoneta, Betty Jean Henning of Mendon, Beverly (Bud) Hunton of Huber Heights, Carol (Dave) Richardson of Alabama, Ila Kay Makley of St. Marys, Wilma Ginter of St. Marys and Mary Frey of St. Marys.
Marilyn L. Armstrong, 84, of 125 Windsor Drive, St. Marys, died at 8:51 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 2, 2014, at her residence.
She was born on June 29, 1930, in Allen County, the daughter of Raleigh and Hazel (Prine) Point.
She married Paul Armstrong on Nov. 22, 1948, in Delphos, and he preceded her in death in 1996.
Iva Waunita “Nita” Hagan, 89, of Holgate, died on Monday, Sept. 29, 2014, while visiting her sister in Michigan.
She was born on Aug. 16, 1925, on the family farm in Barryton, Mich., to Carl and Linda (Murray) Gibbs. Nita was preceded in death by her husband John Hagan of Saginaw, Mich.
Thomas D. Hanslik, 58, of St. Marys, died at 5:28 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 1, 2014, at Celina Manor Nursing Home.
He was born on Jan. 2, 1956, in Lorain, to James Hanslik and Lucille (Thompson) Hanslik-Tuttle, both of whom preceded him in death.
He is survived by a sister, Peggy (Robert) Cauble of Modesto, Calif.; brother Timothy Hanslik of Celina; sister Pamela (Michael) Hays of Union; nephew Justin Hays; and niece Amber Hays.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Terry Hanslik.
Mary E. Egbert, 80, of Botkins, died at 12:32 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 1, 2014, at the Gardens in Wapakoneta.
She was born on May 19, 1934, in New Bremen, the daughter of the late Walter and Lorena (Timmerman) Fischbach.
On Oct. 7, 1955, she married Adrian Egbert, who survives in Botkins.
Irvin J. Dues, 87, of Minster, died at 6:20 p.m. Monday, Sept. 29, 2014, at his home.
He was born on Oct. 9, 1926, in Minster, to the late John and Katherine (Brandewie) Dues.
He married Juanita Goettemoeller on April 21, 1951, in Fort Loramie. She survives in Minster.
Wendell L. Lovell, 75, passed away on Monday, Sept. 29, 2014.
He is survived by daughters, Pam (Dan) Sullivan and Sharon Lovell Petrey, grandchildren Michael (Katy) Brommeland, Josh Stephens, Ashley Sullivan and Logan Stephens, and by his companion, Laura McMillian.
Wendell was preceded in death by his parents, Mollie and Leonard Lovell, stepfather, Verner Ballinger and by his wife, Christine Lovell.
Ted Lewis Endel Sr., 84, of St. Marys, died at 1:15 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 30, 2014, at St. Rita’s Medical Center in Lima.
He was born on July 29, 1930, in Toledo, to Clifford F. and Ruth Mae (Barker) Endel who preceded him in death.
On March 5, 1955, he married Marjorie Joan Johnson, and she survives in St. Marys.
Betty N. Dumbauld, 94, of Celina, passed away at 12:48 a.m. Monday, Sept. 29, 2014, in Briarwood Village in Coldwater.
She was born on May 9, 1920, in Mercer County, to Charles and Mellie (Buck) Howell.
On Oct. 6, 1941, she married Stanley “Si” E. Dumbauld, who preceded her in death.
She is survived by a son, Daniel (Rebecca) Dumbauld of Zionsville, Ind.; a daughter, Debra (Dale) Bruns of Coldwater; a sister-in-law, Lelah Florence Howell of Celina; five grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and many beloved nieces, nephews and cousins.
