Louise “Lil” Wagner, 92

Louise “Lil” Wagner, 92, formerly of North Garfield Street, Minster, passed away at 10:35 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 26, 2013, at Elmwood in New Bremen, where she had been a resident for two and a half years.

She was born on Dec. 3, 1920, in St. Patrick to Louis and Anna (Hoying) Raterman. On Aug. 4, 1942, she married Wallace B. Wagner Sr. He died on Feb. 10, 1995.

Shirley Ann (Schwieterman) Mertz, 78

February 27, 2013

Shirley Ann (Schwieterman) Mertz, 78, passed away at 10:50 a.m. Monday, Feb. 25, 2013, at home surrounded by her family.

She was born on Dec. 28, 1934, to the late Charles and Hilda (Marx) Schwieterman.

She married William A. Mertz on June 23, 1954. They had nine children.

She was preceded in death by a son, William B. Mertz.

Leonard E. “Leo” Hauser, 66

Leonard E. “Leo” Hauser, 66, of Wapakoneta died at 9 a.m. Sunday, Feb. 24, 2013, at Mt. Carmel St. Ann’s Hospital, Westerville after battling cancer.

He was born on Dec. 21, 1946, in Los Angeles, to Byron A. and Merle V. (Kelly) Hauser who preceded him in death.

He is survived by two daughters and a son, Ellen (Michael) Engle of Wapakoneta, Elaine (Amy) Hauser and Byron A. Hauser, both of Columbus; three grandchildren; two brothers.

Owen Michael Moran, of Wapakoneta, died on Monday, Feb. 25, 2013, shortly after birth at the Mary Rutan Hospital in Bellefontaine.  

He was the son of Jacob and Nichole (Phillips) Moran of Wapakoneta.

Rosemary Klosterman, 93

Rosemary Klosterman, 93, of Wapakoneta, died at 6:30 a.m., Monday, Feb. 25, 2013, at Auglaize Acres.  

She was born on March 22, 1919, in St. Marys, the daughter of Isadore and Alice (Davis) Roth, who preceded her in death.  

On Oct. 8, 1938, she married James L. Klosterman Sr., and he died on March 11, 2011.

Elsie C. VanOss, 95

Elsie C. VanOss, 95, formerly of South Hanover Street in Minster, died at 3:15 a.m., Monday, Feb. 25, 2013, at Heritage Manor Nursing Center in Minster. She had been a resident there for nine years.

She was born on June 19, 1917, in Fort Loramie, to Albert and Amelia (Boerger) Freytag.

On Feb. 21, 1944, she married Edmund G. VanOss. He died on Oct. 27, 2002.

Leonard E. Hauser, 66, of Wapakoneta, died at 9 a.m. Sunday, Feb. 24, 2013, at Mount Carmel St. Ann’s Hospital in Westerville. Arrangements are incomplete at Schlosser Funeral Home and Cremation Services in Wapakoneta.

James A. Adams, 84

James A. Adams, 84, of 1111 N. Augustus St. in St. Marys, died at  9:45 p.m. Friday, Feb. 22, 2013, at St. Marys Living Center.

 He was born on Sept. 27, 1928, in St. Marys, to Oscar and Idabelle (Rickman) Adams.

Survivors include     daughter Susan (Vern) Stucke  of St. Marys; two grandchildren, Dr. Gregory (Dr. Kacie) Stucke  of Mason and Dana Stucke  of Columbus.

He was preceded in death by parents Oscar and Idabelle Adams; brother William “Wild Bill” Adams; life-companion Gertrude Hughes.

Christopher K. Huff, 47

Christopher K. Huff, 47, of 611 Lisle St., Celina, died on Wednesday, Feb. 20, 2013.

He was born on Nov. 7, 1965, in St. Marys, the son of Cledith and Clara (Waddles) Huff, who survive in St. Marys.

He is also survived by his son, Jesse Huff of St. Marys; by a brother; by a sister.

Funeral rites will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Miller Funeral Home, 1605 Celina Road, St. Marys, the Rev. Jim Sweigart, officiant. Burial will follow at Elm Grove Cemetery.

Howard B. Putman, 79

Howard B. Putman, 79, of Spencerville, died on Wednesday, Feb. 20, 2013, at his home.  He was born on Feb. 21, 1933, in Willshire, to George H. and Emma Fredaricka (Pflueger) Putman.  

On Aug. 16, 1958, he married Norma J. Ralston who survives.

Surviving in addition to his wife, Norma, are two daughters Leisha (Troy) Comer of Wapakoneta, and Leslie (John) Ringwald of Van Wert; three granddaughters; three great-grandchildren; a brother; a sister; a sister-in-law.
