January 22nd
Mary Kathryn Howe, 92, of Wapakoneta, died at 6 p.m., Saturday, Jan. 19, 2013, at Cridersville Healthcare Center.
She was born on Feb. 23, 1920, in Wapakoneta, the daughter of Clarence and Marie (Emerick) Weber.
On March 1, 1944, she married Frederick W. Howe, and he died on Jan. 15, 2013.
Surviving is a daughter, Ann (Michael) Loy of Botkins; a son, Dan Howe of Wapakoneta; a grandson, Ryan (Krystal) Loy of Wapakoneta; and two great–grandchildren, Madison and Noah Loy, also of Wapakoneta.
January 21st
Paul G. Fleck, 80, of 650 Maple St. in Celina, passed away at 12:15 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 19, 2013, at the Gardens of Celina.
He was born on July 30, 1932, in Celina, to the late Matthew and Mary (Mertz) Fleck.
On June 6, 1953, he married Rosemary Mader, who live in Celina.
Linda Diane (Smith) Stevens, 64, of 209 E. Oak St. in Celina, passed away at 4:25 p.m. Friday, Jan. 18, 2013, at her residence in Celina.
She was born on Oct. 12, 1948, in Evansville, Ind., to Rev. George and Joanne (Oran) Smith.
On Sept. 23, 1966, Linda married George E. Stevens Sr., who lives in Celina.
January 18th
Clora G. Barker, 90, of Mendon, died on Thursday, Jan. 17, 2013, at the Van Wert Inpatient Hospice Center.
She was born on April 1, 1922, in Van Wert County to Carl and Sarah (McCoy) Mohler.
On March 18, 1943, she married Charles Barker, who preceded her in death on Oct. 8, 2003.
She is survived by a daughter, Elaine (Jerry) Steiner of Mendon; two granddaughters; five great-grandsons.
She was preceded in death by a brother and sister.
January 17th
Elfrieda E. Borchers, 98, of Russia, died at 10:20 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 16, 2013, at Versailles Health Care.
She was born on Jan. 1, 1915, in Russia, to the late Leo and Margaret (Marchal) Voisard.
She married Urban F. Borchers on Oct. 30, 1937.
He preceded her in death on Feb. 15, 2008.
January 16th
Mireille L. Stoker, 92, of 935 W. High Street in St. Marys, died on Wednesday, Dec. 26, 2012, in Naperville, Ill.
She was born on Dec. 5, 1920, in Coincy, France, to Lucien and Yvonne (Cheutin) Renoit.
On Oct. 7, 1946, at the Episcopal Church in Lima, she married Milton K. Stoker, who died in 1982.
Survivors include nieces, Deborah J. Anderson and Deborah Johnson; nephew Douglas Anderson; grand-nephews Jordan, Erik, Wesley, Carl and Derek; grand-niece Christina; numerous friends and a large extended family in France.
Bertha J. (Baltes) Siegrist, 89, of 3704 State Route 127 in Celina, passed away at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 15, 2013, at her residence.
She was born on March 28, 1923, in Versailles, to the late Leroy and Ella (Frantz) Baltes.
On July 5, 1944, she married Cletus J. Siegrist, who passed away on Nov. 12, 1987.
Survivors include her sons and daughter-in-law, David C. Siegrist of Celina, John R. and Barbara Siegrist of St. Marys, Helen and Clark Rasneor of St. Marys; four grandchildren; a brother and sister-in-law; a sister and brother-in-law
Gerald L. Unroe, 74, of 5474 Behm Road in Celina, passed away at 1:30 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 15, 2013, at the Joint Township District Memorial Hospital in St. Marys.
He was born on Dec. 30, 1938, in Dayton to the late Virgil and Hermina W. (Plieman) Unroe.
On Oct. 27, 1989, he married Jacqueline Burden, who lives in Celina.
Pastor Vernon W. Clausing, 80, passed away on Monday, Jan. 14, 2013. Vernon was a former UCC pastor who is survived by his sons Jon (Han Soon) and Joel (Nadine); and grandchildren Madison, Lauren, Cole, Tenzin, Ashley, Sadie, and Meghan. He is further survived by his sister Ruth (Howard) Dickman; brother Lee (Sandra) Clausing; and many nieces, nephews, relatives, and dear friends.
January 15th
Willard “Will” B. Evers, 62, of Maria Stein, died on Monday, Jan. 14, 2013, at his home. He was born on Aug. 22, 1950, in Celina, to the late Gregor and Stella (Pleiman) Evers.
He married Ellen Weitzel on Oct. 12, 1974, in Sharpsburg. She survives in Maria Stein.
