October 20th
Mildred K. Knoth, 97, of formerly of Coldwater, died at 5:40 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 19, 2011, at Gardens at St. Henry.
She was born on Jan. 8, 1914, in St. Peter, to John and Elizabeth (Koesters) Jutte, and they preceded her in death.
On Sept. 2, 1933, she married Henry J. Knoth, and he preceded her in death on Aug. 28, 2002.
Bernice J. Thomas, 91, of 303 Morton St., Celina, died at 12:17 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 18, 2011, at Mercer County Community Hospital, following a sudden illness.
She was born on Aug. 16, 1920, in Lima, the daughter of William and Minnie (Johnson) Hubble, and they preceded her in death.
She married William Thomas on May 6, 1939, and he preceded her in death in March 1974.
October 17th
Harold C. Phlipot Sr., 90, of Versailles, passed away at 3:45 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 15, 2011, at Versailles Healthcare Center.
Harold was born on Aug. 30, 1921, in Shelby County, to John and Margaret (Didier) Phlipot, and they preceded him in death.
On April 20, 1949, Harold married Juliana (Hoelscher) Phlipot, and she survives.
Roy A. McMurray, 96, St. Marys, died at 2 a.m. Sunday, Oct. 16, 2011, at his residence.
He was born on Feb. 4, 1915, in Celina, to Arthur and Imogene (Eshelman) McMurray, and they preceded him in death.
On Sept. 3, 1980, he married Norma Jean Horn Turner, and she survives him.
He is also survived by three stepsons, Gene (Gretchen) Turner of St. Marys, Ted Turner of Celina and Joe Douglas (Faye) Turner of George Town, Ky.; 10 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren.
Leon J. Hein, 93, formerly of St. Sebastian, died at 1:15 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 15, 2011, at Gardens at Celina.
He was born on March 25, 1918, in Chickasaw, to Henry and Clara (Ronnebaum) Hein, and they preceded him in death.
Robert Lee Haller, 86, a resident of Wyngate Retirement Community in Lima, formerly a resident of Otterbein St. Marys, died at 2:48 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 15, 2011, at Lima Memorial Health System, following an extended illness.
He was born on Jan. 9, 1925, in Kossuth, Auglaize County, the son of Albert Theodore and Hazel Chesta (Gross) Haller, and they preceded him in death.
On June 1, 1946, he married Grace Irene Boyer, and she survives him.
Aubrey Lynn Bruns, 3, of 196 Amsterdam Road, Minster, died around noon Saturday, Oct. 15, 2011, in the emergency room at Mercer Health following an auto accident.
She was born on Dec. 28, 2007, in Coldwater, to John and Rebecca Lynn (Kramer) Bruns, and they survive her in Minster.
She is also survived by two brothers, Keaton and Conner; her grandparents, Victor and Verene Kramer of Osgood and Gerald and Sandra Bruns of Minster; her great-grandmothers, Velma Bruns of Maria Stein and Theresa Schipper of Botkins.
Fred G. Swartz, 77, of 11103 State Route 364, St. Marys, died at 12:35 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 15, 2011, at his residence.
He was born on April 5, 1934, in St. Marys, the son of Sam and Cynthia (Davis) Swartz, and they preceded him in death.
On Nov. 24, 1954, he married Janet Quellhorst, and she survives at the residence.
Dixie Lee Gaeke, 71, a resident of Otterbein St. Marys Retirement Community, formerly of Troy and Tipp City, died at 12:50 p.m. Friday, Oct. 14, 2011, at Otterbein St. Marys, following a brief illness.
She was born on March 31, 1940, in Arcanum, and her parents preceded her in death.
She married Keith Rhoades, and he preceded her in death. On June 18, 2002, she married Joseph Gaeke, and he survives at Otterbein St. Marys.
Armella Ann (Bills) Steinke, 82, formerly of Eastview Drive, Fort Loramie, passed away of natural causes Saturday morning, Oct. 15, 2011, at the Dorothy Love Retirement Community in Sidney.
She was born on April 5, 1929, in Chickasaw, to Anthony and Leona (Boeke) Bills, and they preceded him in death.
On Oct. 27, 1951, at Precious Blood Catholic Church in Chickasaw, Armella married Charles Steinke, and he preceded her in death on Sept. 30, 2011.
