Man Charged In Pursuit

NEW BREMEN —  A 35-year-old man is in the Auglaize County Jail following a pursuit that reached speeds of 100 mph Friday night.

At approximately 5:45 p.m. Friday, a New Bremen police officer conducted a routine traffic stop in the 900 block of East Monroe Street. During the stop, the officer determined there to be drugs inside the vehicle and also found out there was a handgun inside it. After the passenger in the vehicle stepped outside, the driver sped off.

Pursuit Reaches 100 mph

A suspect is in custody following a pursuit that reached speeds of 80 to 100 mph Friday night.

According to scanner traffic at the time, the driver of the vehicle reportedly refused to cooperate with a police officer's order. The suspect fled, leading law enforcement from Auglaize and Shelby counties on a pursuit that reached speeds 80 to 100 mph and traversed both counties. The suspect was taken into custody in Shelby County. A hand gun also was reportedly tossed from the vehicle.

WAPAKONETA — The second person charged in connection with the 1981 death of a St. Marys man has retained an attorney and his case is moving forward.

SOURCES Set For Changes

CELINA — Members of the board of trustees of SOURCES, the Community Action Agency serving Auglaize and Mercy counties, voted Thursday night to relinquish its CAA designation. The move, which was made to ensure services remain available to residents in both counties, will be made in a timely manner to allow for an appropriate transition of services. SOURCES is a resource to help provide services to the low-income communities in the two counties and to resolve financial issues.

6 Indicted On Drug Charges

CELINA — Six people were indicted on a variety of drug charges following investigations by the Grand Lake Task Force.

Those arrested and indicted were:

• Dennis W. Clutter, 54, of the Mercer County Adult Detention Facility, on one count of possession of heroin, a fourth-degree felony.

• William R. Culver Jr., 49, of the Mercer County Adult Detention Facility, on one count of possession of heroin, a fourth-degree felony.

Man Accused Of Robbery At Knife Point

ST. MARYS — A suspect has been taken into custody in relation to an aggravated robbery that took place at a local bank Friday afternoon.
St. Marys Police Chief Mark Ernst confirmed to The Evening Leader a suspect has been taken into custody a few hours following the incident at 3Rivers Federal Credit Union on Greenville Road.
The suspect was located at a residence on Edwards Street.

St. Marys Police Chief Mark Ernst has confirmed to The Evening Leader that a suspect is in custody regarding the aggravated robbery at 3Rivers Federal Credit Union earlier today. Ernst declined to release the name of the suspect, pending further investigation into the matter. The stolen vehicle also has been recovered.

Woman Robbed In Bank Lot

ST. MARYS — Law enforcement officials in St. Marys are looking for a suspect who held a woman up at knife point and stole a car at a local bank.

At approximately 12:21 p.m. Friday, employees from 3Rivers Federal Credit Union on Greenville Road called the St. Marys Police Department to report the incident. St. Mary Police Chief Mark Ernst said a white male approached a woman in the parking lot, displayed a knife, stole her purse and car and fled the scene.
