CELINA — Local residents got the chance to get some health tips and screenings through a health fair sponsored by a local hospital.
ST. MARYS — For Memorial High School senior Rider Hannah Langsdon, life is art.
The school’s art club is Langsdon’s haven, and she said she takes her responsibility as a leader in it very seriously.
“The seniors are kind of like the presidents of the club,” Langsdon said. “So all the seniors are in charge, and they help out with the younger kids. We make sure that there’s no bad behavior in our club — we’re there to be ourselves, not make everybody else feel bad.”
NEW KNOXVILLE — Performers in the rescheduled New Knoxville talent show benefitted from several weeks of extra practice that allowed them to shine Friday afternoon in front of friends and family.

ST. MARYS — The New Year’s baby for St. Marys area is Atticus Logan Kinsey, born to Chelsie and Brandon Kinsey, of St. Marys at 7:33 a.m. Jan. 1. The newborn weighed in at 7 pounds, 10 ounces, and measured 20 inches long.
Chelsie said she was playing Duck-Duck-Goose with her two children, Cashis, 3, and Mikayla, 7, about five minutes after watching the ball drop in New York City when she went into labor.
CELINA — The suspect wanted in connection with the Nov. 8 death of a Rockford woman was arrested Wednesday morning in Fort Wayne.
Mercer County Sheriff Jeff Grey announced law enforcement officials have taken Daniel Charles Martin, 40, of Fort Wayne, Ind., into custody. Martin was on the run for close to two months in connection with the death of Melinda Shinn, 26.
A day after the shooting, the Mercer County Sheriff's Office requested the assistance of the United States Marshal’s Service in locating Martin.

Although the roller rink has hosted several lock-ins, this was the first for New Year’s Eve since Dan and Victoria Egbert took over last September.
Roller skaters had a lot of good memories from 2012. Misty Shaffer remembered 2012 as the year she changed jobs.
“The best thing was getting a good job at Honda,” she said.
