Flood Advisory Issued

September 20, 2013

The National Weather Service has issued a flood advisory for Auglaize County effective until 11:15 p.m. Friday. Heavy rains could dump 1.5 to 2.5 inches of rain on the region. Minor, localized flooding could occur in low-laying areas, creeks, streams and ditches.

Pumpkinfest Returns

NEW BREMEN — New Bremen Pumpkinfest returns Sept. 27-28 with music, arts and food this year, but it will go forward without the weighing of the large orange gourds — transitioning instead to a fall festival atmosphere that’s more about catching up with one another as a community.

“Instead of doing that, we are focusing on creating a fall festival,” said Lauren Bertke, who is organizing this year’s event.

She added there are a lot that of new events this year.

Sept. 20: Friday Craft Circle will be held from 10 a.m. to noon today. Bring craft projects in to work on in the company of fellow crafters at the St. Marys Community Public Library.

Preschool Storytime will be at 10:30 a.m. today at New Knoxville Public Library. Kids ages 3, 4 and 5 (not yet in Kindergarten) are welcome.

The Grand Lake St. Marys State Park Fall Festival starts at 4 p.m. today.
