ST. MARYS — The 30th annual SummerFest is open for business.
The annual event, which draws crowds to Memorial Park all weekend, kicked off on Thursday with the opening ceremony. Before proclaiming the event open, St. Marys Mayor Pat McGowan touted SummerFest as a bridge across generations of St. Marys residents who left but the city but who come home for the event each year.
Friday, Aug. 9
9:30 a.m. to 8 p.m. — BOOK SALE, Simply Good Things basement
10 a.m. to 5 p.m. — ARTFEST EXHIBIT, public library
10 a.m. — RESOURCEFUL ECO-FRIENDLY SOLUTIONS TO TODAY’S LIVING, Save The Planet Tent
10 a.m. — SUPER SIDEWALK SALES, Spring Street
5 p.m. — SUMMERFEST CRUISE-IN, South Street Parking Lot
5 p.m. — POLICE K-9 WORKING DOG DEMONSTRATION, practice field by St. Marys River.
