CELINA — Troopers from the Wapakoneta Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol seized more than $25,000 in drugs and a loaded handgun during a traffic stop in Mercer County on Friday.
Troopers stopped a 2002 Chevy Suburban, with Indiana registration, for an alleged speed violation, on eastbound U.S. 33, near milepost 15, at 9:20 p.m. Friday. Troopers detected an odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle. A probable cause search revealed several plastic bags allegedly containing 1,502 ecstasy pills, worth nearly $26,000, and a loaded 9 mm Smith and Wesson handgun.
ST. MARYS — Five St. Marys residents were arrested as part of a recent investigation by the Grand Lake Drug Task Force.
Seven residents total were arrested as part of a six-month investigation by the task force. The suspects were arrested on Wednesday and have been indicted on drug charges ranging from the sale of marijuana to heroin.
Those arrested were:
• Adam Roberts, 23, of St. Marys, on three counts of trafficking in marijuana and one count of trafficking in heroin.
