ST. MARYS — Through the cooperation of local churches, St. Marys students have an opportunity this summer to learn about fishing while enjoying a morning of activities at Grand Lake St. Marys through a series of three workshops.
Fishing, Fun and Fellowship will be held from 10:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Wednesday, July 11 and Aug. 15 at the East Bank Road shelter house No. 1 at Grand Lake St. Marys. Organizer Kara Birt said the event will be open to school-aged children in the St. Marys City School District.
CELINA — Emergency response crews responded to the western shore of Grand Lake St. Marys, near the lighthouse in Celina in response to calls of suspicious activity concerning an adult and a child.
According to a news release from the Celina Police Department, initially the caller advised a subject had placed a child on the shoreline, but a short time later reported that the child had been placed in the water.
ST. MARYS — The Auglaize County dog warden is seeking the public's help for any tips leading to information regarding the drowning death of a caged dog in Grand Lake St. Marys.
"We will need help from the community and the citizens," Dog Warden Russ Bailey told The Evening Leader. "We have some people of interest, I am not calling them suspects at this time."
