Jan. 3: There will be a weigh in for the Grand Health Challenge from 6 a.m. to 8:30 a.m. today at JTDMH's cardiac center and from 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. today at the Mercer County Health Department.
The Minster Village Council is scheduled to meet at 6:30 p.m. today.

ST. MARYS — A local school’s culinary program recently received a grant to help “green” their classroom.
Michelle Langmeyer, the Culinary Arts and Nutrition, instructor at St. Marys Memorial High School, recently received a grant from the Dayton region McDonald’s restaurants to promote healthy eating. Langmeyer’s goal is to help her students see how food begins before it hits their plates or their refrigerators.
ST. MARYS — St. Marys City Councilors put in a little work on Monday.
Councilors approved, under suspension of rules, an emergency ordinance approving the appointment of Craig Moeller as the city’s interim safety-service director. The measure also waived the requirement for Moeller to be a licensed professional engineer, which is a requirement under the city’s codified ordinances when it comes to the safety-service director position. However, City Law Director Kraig Noble noted waiving the requirement has been done in the past.
