Joy L. Linton, 92, of Celina, died at 9:40 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 26, 2011, at Joint Township District Memorial Hospital.
She was born on Oct. 12, 1919, in Van Wert County, to Olen W. and Laura Wheeler Chivington, and they preceded her in death.
On March 15, 1941, she married Elmer Linton, and he preceded her in death on May 21, 2001.
She is survived by a son, David (Linda) Linton of Celina; two daughters, Diana (David) Eyink of Celina and Elizabeth (Gary) Moorman of Tipp City; a sister; seven grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren.
Roger Raymond Heitkamp, 65, of Monterey Drive, Fort Loramie, died on Friday, Nov. 25, 2011, at Wilson Memorial Hospital in Sidney.
He was born on June 29, 1946, in Celina, to Clarence L. and Lorena E. (Riethman) Heitkamp, and they preceded him in death.
On Oct. 4, 1969, at St. Michael Church in Fort Loramie, he married Margaret “Peg” L. Barlage, and she survives him.
Frank Axe, 86, of St. Marys, died on Sunday, Nov. 27, 2011, at Otterbein – St. Marys.
Arrangements are incomplete at Miller – Long & Folk Funeral Home, 314 W. High St., St. Marys.
Kenneth R. Elshoff, 79, passed away on Thursday, Nov. 24, 2011.
He was born on April 1, 1932, in New Knoxville, to Floranz and Esther Elshoff, and they preceded him in death.
He is survived by his devoted wife of 56 years, Lea; two sons, David (Heidi) and Steven (Anne); three grandchildren, Kenneth, Erich and Paige; two stepgrandchildren, Shannon and Daniel; two brothers, Eldred (Cal) of LaCanada, Calif., and Mack of New Knoxville.
He served in Korea from 1953-54, rising to the rank of staff sergeant.
Lora Collins, 75, of 1708 Nagel St., St. Marys, died suddenly at 6:02 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 26, 2011, at Ohio State University Medical Center in Columbus.
She was born on Jan. 8, 1936, in Mousie, Ky., the daughter of Troy and Biddie (Wicker) Chaffins, and they preceded her in death.
On March 5, 1955, she married Morrell Collins, and he survives her at the residence.
Rex E. Wallace, 80, of Celina, died at 2:55 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 26, 2011, at Otterbein St. Marys.
He was born on June 1, 1931, in Toledo, the son of Vern and Sadie Gleason Wallace, and they preceded him in death.
On Aug. 22, 1952, he married Delores “Jean” Brackman, and she survives him in Celina.
ST. MARYS — A local organization held a drive along Spring Street during Small Business Saturday.
The Family Life Center of Auglaize County hosted a community drop-off for its shoe drive on Saturday. The center is hosting the Barney the Shoeman Program, in conjunction with the Hands Across the Sea Foundation, through Wednesday.
ST. MARYS — Students in a local medical program recently received donations of various types of medical equipment that they can use in their classroom.
Mitch Eiting, of Midmark, made more than $19,000 in donations to Tri Star’s Med Prep program. Those donations included a new autoclave, a new portable EKG, a dental chair with accessories and a hi-lo table. The equipment will be used as part of exercises throughout the year, Med Prep instructor Janet Nelson said.
Coldwater is headed back to familiar territory — Northeast Ohio — in search of the school’s third state championship and a measure of atonement for last year’s loss in the championship game.
The Midwest Athletic Conference’s Coldwater Cavaliers are headed back to the state title game for the second straight season and the sixth time in the past 14 seasons after the Cavs drubbed Hicksville 41-21 in a Division V state semifinal at Lima Stadium on Friday night.

NEW BREMEN — For two and a half quarters the New Knoxville Rangers managed to stay with the Anna Rockets, but in the last four minutes of the third quarter the Rockets outscored New Knoxville 12-5 and defeated the Rangers 56-37 in the first game of the annual New Bremen Tip-Off Classic held at New Bremen.
