The St. Marys girls varsity bowling team kicked off their season with a 2330-1805 victory over Lima Temple Christian on Saturday at Plaza Lanes in Celina.
Kristen Dammeyer led the Roughriders with games of 200 and 188 for a 388.
Paige Keysor added a 320 with games of 166 and 154. Drew Houser had games of 153 and 145. Abby Smith had games of 154 and 131 for a 285. Serena Rockwood added a game of 147 and Faith Monin had a 114.
PIQUA — Marion Local head football coach Tim Goodwin weighed his options during a time out with 1:16 left in the game, his team tied with Covington, the ball at midfield and his offense facing a fourth and 10.
Goodwin didn’t want to risk overtime against Covington running back A.J. Oullette and a Buccs triple-option offense that had bedeviled his defense all night. So he put the game in the hands of senior quarterback Adam Bertke and the offense.
The National Weather Service has issued a tornado watch for Auglaize County until 8 p.m. Sunday.
