The deadline for youth baseball sign-up in St. Marys is quickly approaching.
Players wishing to sign up for Tee Ball, Machine Pitch, Minor League, Major League or Pony League need to be signed up by Saturday, March 31.

E. Lucille (Bushong) Eichhorn, 86, of Wapakoneta, died at 8:41 a.m. Thursday, March 8, 2012, at Otterbein-Cridersville.
She was born on July 27, 1925, in Williamstown, to Marion U. and M. Marie (Steinman) Bushong, who preceded her in death.
In 1964, she married C. Gaylord Eichhorn, and he preceded her in death in 1967.
She is survived by a stepdaughter, Gladys Whitmer of Kettering; a brother; several nieces, nephews and steprelatives.
She was preceded in death by two brothers; two sisters.
Tina M. Phlipot, 50, of 801 Manier Ave., Piqua, died at 12:55 a.m. Tuesday, March 13, 2012, at Heritage Manor Nursing Home, Minster.
She was born on March 19, 1961, in Lima, to John and Sandra (Reineke) Eilerman, and they survive her in Minster.
NEW BREMEN — A local village is looking for its residents’ opinions on whether to add a dog park to its lands.
“We’ve gotten some responses, but we’d like to get more,” Councilor Denny Burnell said.
He noted he and fellow Councilor John Schwartz have a few sites they are thinking about in the village to put a possible dog park, but they are hoping to hear what their fellow residents think about the proposal.
LIMA — Attorneys from both sides argued their cases in front of judges from the Third District Court of Appeals regarding the murder conviction of a St. Marys man last year.
In November, Gordon W. Diggle III filed an appeal in his conviction on murder, felonious assault and aggravated robbery charges. He was sentenced to 25 years to life in prison in the beating death of Steven Casad on Sept. 8, 2010.
