Duane D. Rinkel, 69, of rural Bryan, died at 5 a.m. Sunday, June 10, 2012, at Bryan Care and Rehabilitation Center, where he had been a patient since June 6.
He was born on Aug. 6, 1942, in Defiance, the son of James P. and Dortha G. (Crites) Rinkel Sr., and they preceded him in death.
Patricia A. Young, 76, 225 S. Wayne St., St. Marys, died at 9:50 p.m. on Thursday, June 7, 2012.
She was born on April 25, 1936, in Minster, to Urban Joseph and Neoma E. (Depweg) Wetzel. She married Philip R. Young on June 27, 1959, and he preceded her in death in 1986.
ST. MARYS — A local graduate recently competed in his first marathon, along with a few members of his ROTC group.
Dan Bubp, the son of John and Amy Bubp and a 2011 graduate of St. Marys Memorial High School, attends Bowling Green State University as part of the ROTC.
“I’m in the Air Force ROTC at BG,” Bubp said, “We’re part of Detachment 620.”
In late April, Bubp along with 22 male and female Air Force cadets, competed in the Mountain Man Memorial March in Gatlinburg, Tenn.

ST. MARYS — A California man admitted to posting nude images of his then-underage friend on the Internet as well as using a popular social media site to disseminate the material.
Carl W. Rose, 82, of Celina, died on Thursday, June 7, 2012, at Mercer County Community Hospital in Coldwater.
He was born on Feb. 26, 1930, in St. Henry, to the late Roman Rose and Marie Leistenschneider. On Oct. 29, 1955, in St. Anthony, he married Lucille M. "Lucy" Krieg.
He is survived by a son, Wayne (Melanie) Rose of St. Marys; two brothers, Joe (Donna) Rose of Coldwater and Fred (Irene) Rose of St. Henry; three sisters; three grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by four brothers and a sister.
Stephanie Jung, 63, of Church Street, North Warren, Pa., and formerly of St. Marys, passed away on Thursday, June 7, 2012, following a brief illness and was taken home to be with the Lord at the John and Orpha Blair Hospice House.
Stephanie was born on Oct. 21, 1948, in Munich, Germany, the daughter of the late Wessil and Anastasian Dzalamanow.
CELINA — The Celina Police Department has filed preliminary charges against an Indiana man in connection with the false emergency call placed to the Mercer County Sheriff’s Office on Wednesday. The suspect called into Central Dispatch on the Mercer County sheriff’s line to report that a subject had laid a motionless child on the concrete pad by the lighthouse that is located on the NW corner of Grand Lake in Celina. The suspect then called a second time to report that the subject had placed the child in the water and held him down with a rock.
