Donald William Ickes Sr., 53, of 1122 Hager St., St. Marys, died on Tuesday, Jan. 10, 2012, at Joint Township District Memorial Hospital in St. Marys.
He was born on Oct. 27, 1958, in Lima, the son of John Phillip Ickes and Helen Smart, and his father preceded him in death. His mother survives him in Wapakoneta.
Paul L. Edwards, 66, of Van Wert, died at 7:13 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 10, 2012, at Van Wert County Hospital.
Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Liberty Baptist Church in Van Wert, with the Rev. Jim Burns officiating. Interment will follow in Woodland Cemetery.
Visitation will be held from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. and from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday at Brickner Funeral Home Van Wert.

Robert J. Badertscher, 60, of Wapakoneta, died at 2:55 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 11, 2012, at Wapakoneta Manor. Arrangements are incomplete at the Bayliff & Eley Funeral Home in Wapakoneta.
Mabel L. Williams, 92, of 125 S. Lake St., Celina, died at 10:55 p.m. Monday, Jan. 9, 2012, at Miami Valley Hospital in Dayton.
She was born on Sept. 20, 1919, in Piqua, to Charles and Mary (Murphy) Chaney, and they preceded her in death.
On Oct. 22, 1938, she married Lewis Williams, and he preceded her in death on Jan. 30, 1987.

NEW BREMEN — Anything Jackson Center senior Brooke Richard wanted to do she was able to do.
Led by Richard’s 31 points the Tigers defeated the Cardinals 53-43 in a non-league contest at New Bremen. on Tuesday.
“She is quicker than most players,” Tigers head coach Makaine Huffer said. “She just does a great job of getting to the basket.”
CELINA — Investigators continue their investigation into the murders of a father and daughter in November.
In a news release, Mercer County Sheriff Jeff Grey said detectives and agents from the Ohio Bureau of Criminal Identification and Investigation are sorting through evidence pertaining to the homicide of Robert and Colleen Grube that occurred in their rural Fort Recovery home on Nov. 29 or 30.
Wendy H. Stanley, 51, of 1400 W. Market St., Celina, died on Friday, Jan. 6, 2012, at her residence.
She was born on June 15, 1960, in Pikeville, Ky., to Woodrow and Geneva (Gilliam) Hamilton, and they preceded her in death.
She is survived by her daughters, Kerry Stanley of Pikeville, Ky., and Dakota Carroll of Celina; three sisters.
She was preceded in death by two brothers.
Private family services will be held at the family’s convenience.
The Lehman-Hogenkamp-Dzendzel Funeral Home in Celina is handling arrangements.
Roy M. Kohler, 86, of Wapakoneta, died at 12:05 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 10, 2012, at The Living Center, St. Marys.
He was born on July 10, 1925, in St. Marys, the son of Andrew and Maud (Coldwell) Kohler, who preceded him in death.
On July 17, 1948, he married Stella V. Gross, and she survives.
Other survivors include two brothers, Bob Kohler of St. Marys, and Chuck (Beth) Kohler of Wapakoneta; two sisters, Betty Weaver and Barb (Wilbur) Brubaker, both of St. Marys, and several nieces and nephews.
ST. MARYS — Members of a city development group approved a measure to pledge their financial support to the future of Grand Lake St. Marys.
NEW BREMEN — An area mayor had to break a tie vote — something that doesn’t happen often — during a village’s first council meeting of the year Tuesday evening.
