D. Wayne Kline, 89, of Rockford, died at 3:21 a.m. Thursday, March 22, 2012, at Van Wert County Hospital.
He was born on March 3, 1923, in Liberty Township, to Henry J. Kline and Elise Sutton, and they preceded him in death.
On June 29, 1946, at the Walnut Grove Church in Ohio City, he married Lillian G. Kline, and she preceded him in death on Feb. 1.
NEW BREMEN — New Bremen senior Neven Frazee announced he will play football at Rose-Hulman during a signing ceremony at New Bremen High School on Thursday night.
Frazee, a 6-foot-1 200-pounder who played offenive line, linebacker and punted, was named honorable mention Midwest Athletic Conference All-League this fall.
Frazee learned about the interest in him from the Terre Haute, Indiana school last summer.

ST. MARYS — Area business people have the opportunity to enjoy breakfast, networking time and get an update on some of the latest technology at an annual breakfast.
The St. Marys Community Public Library will host its 13th annual Businessperson’s Breakfast from 7:30 a.m. to 9 a.m. April 5. The free program is open to any local businessperson. St. Marys Community Public Library Adult Services Coordinator Beth Keuneke said the annual event is beneficial for the library and area business people.
MINSTER — One local student has qualified to advance to the Ohio State Geography Bee — a feat that Minster Local Schools hasn’t seen since the mid-90s.
ST. MARYS — The newest — and largest — tool in the box to help heal Grand Lake St. Marys arrived on the scene Wednesday.
Brutus, a $670,000 12-inch suction dredge, arrived in the parking lot near the East Bank boat ramp to a crowd of onlookers. The dredge, which will replace a 1968 dredge, was built by Ellicott Dredges in Baltimore, Md., has been a year in the making.
Clifford W. Fisher Jr., 64, of Celina, died at 1:28 a.m. Wednesday, March 21, 2012, at Lima Memorial Hospital in Lima.
He was born on June 14, 1947, in Wapakoneta, to Clifford Fisher Sr. and Marcella Clum, and they preceded him in death.
On June 8, 1985, he married Carol Fleck, and she survives.
He is also survived by four sons, Brian (Shannon) Fisher of Lakeland, Fla., Kevin Fisher of Celina, James (Barb) Fisher of Celina and Derrick (Andrea) Harter of Celina; a daughter, Dawn Fisher of North Port, Fla.; 18 grandchildren; one great-grandchild.
Paul R. Fortman, 90, formerly of 14586 Ohio 66 North, St. Marys, died at 10:39 a.m. Wednesday, March 21, 2012, at Otterbein — St. Marys.
He was born on Nov. 6, 1921, in St. Marys, to Frank and Alena (Gerstner) Fortman, and they preceded him in death.
On Oct. 28, 1948, in Celina, he married Florence A. Miller, and she preceded him in death on Oct. 28, 1986.
Delanie Wolf, a freshman Ashland forward and Minster grad, will suit up in the NCAA Division II national championship game in San Antonio on Friday night.
The Ashland Eagles beat Bentley, 77-62, in a Final Four contest at Bill Greehey Arena in front of a national cable television audience to advance to the school’s first national title game against Shaw, the winner of Wednesday night’s nightcap game in San Antonio.
MINSTER — Minster Village Councilors reviewed new rates for activities conducted at the community swimming pool during their meeting Monday night.
The committee convened on the ordinance of reviewing the current rates charged at the swimming pool, which have been in effect since 2002. Village Administrator Don Harrod said last week the park committee met and reviewed the current rates and looked at what other communities were charging for the use of their pools. After discussion, the park committee recommended the pool rates be adjusted.
