Mina M. Froese, 96

June 30, 2014

Mina M. Froese, 96, formerly of Coldwater and a resident of Otterbein—St. Marys, died at 8:30 a.m. Saturday, June 28, 2014, at Otterbein—St. Marys.  

She was born on March 21, 1918, in Long Island, N.Y.  

She was the daughter of Arthur and Maria (Belec) Griffin.  

Robert L. Kohlreiser Sr., 84

Robert L. Kohlreiser Sr., 84, of St. Marys, died on Thursday, June 26, 2014, at his residence.  

He was born on March 17, 1930, in Hume, the son of the late Wilbur and Minnie (Fogt) Kohlrieser.  

On Aug. 11, 1951, he married Eunice M. Stienecker, who died on Sept. 17, 2011.  

William “Bill” Bader, 81

June 30, 2014

William “Bill” Bader, 81, of Rockford, passed away at 4:35 p.m. Thursday, June 26, 2014, at the Laurels of Shane Hill.  

Bill was born on Dec. 19, 1932, to Edward and Florence (Martz) Bader in Liberty Township.  

Bill married Edith Bricher on Dec. 1, 1956, and she survives.  

He has been a lifelong resident of the Rockford area.

Man Charged In Pursuit

NEW BREMEN —  A 35-year-old man is in the Auglaize County Jail following a pursuit that reached speeds of 100 mph Friday night.

At approximately 5:45 p.m. Friday, a New Bremen police officer conducted a routine traffic stop in the 900 block of East Monroe Street. During the stop, the officer determined there to be drugs inside the vehicle and also found out there was a handgun inside it. After the passenger in the vehicle stepped outside, the driver sped off.

Pursuit Reaches 100 mph

A suspect is in custody following a pursuit that reached speeds of 80 to 100 mph Friday night.

According to scanner traffic at the time, the driver of the vehicle reportedly refused to cooperate with a police officer's order. The suspect fled, leading law enforcement from Auglaize and Shelby counties on a pursuit that reached speeds 80 to 100 mph and traversed both counties. The suspect was taken into custody in Shelby County. A hand gun also was reportedly tossed from the vehicle.

Timothy J. Lutterbeck, 57

June 27, 2014

Timothy J. Lutterbeck, 57, of 140 Mallard Cove in Celina, died at 1 a.m. Wednesday, June 25, 2014.

He was born on Aug. 11, 1956, in Sidney, to Ermal and Phyllis (Botkin) Lutterbeck.

Survivors include his mother and his brother, Alan Lutterbeck  of St. Marys.

He was preceded in death by his father.

He was a graduate of St. Marys Memorial High School. He was employed as a CNC lathe operator at Parker-Hannifin Corp. in St. Marys. He had also previously worked for Huffy Bicycle Mfg. Co. in Celina from 1977 to 1998.

Mabry Pleads Innocent In Case

WAPAKONETA — The second person charged in connection with the 1981 death of a St. Marys man has retained an attorney and his case is moving forward.

SOURCES Set For Changes

CELINA — Members of the board of trustees of SOURCES, the Community Action Agency serving Auglaize and Mercy counties, voted Thursday night to relinquish its CAA designation. The move, which was made to ensure services remain available to residents in both counties, will be made in a timely manner to allow for an appropriate transition of services. SOURCES is a resource to help provide services to the low-income communities in the two counties and to resolve financial issues.

Denise Metz Locke, 54

Denise Metz Locke, 54, of 180 Hickory Nut Lane, Moorseburg, Tenn., and formerly of St. Marys, died on Wednesday, June 25, 2014, at the Roselawn Manor Nursing Home in Spencerville, after a brief battle with cancer.

She was born on March 30, 1960, in Lima, the daughter of David and Sharlene (Graham) Metz.

She married David Locke on Jan. 1, 2002, in Tennesee, and he survives at the residence.

She is also survived by her brother, Dana (Renee) Metz of Gilbert, Ariz.; and by her nephews, Kyle and Joshua Metz.
