Thomas D. Hanslik, 58

October 3, 2014

Thomas D. Hanslik, 58, of St. Marys, died at 5:28 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 1, 2014, at Celina Manor Nursing Home.

He was born on Jan. 2, 1956, in Lorain, to James Hanslik and Lucille (Thompson) Hanslik-Tuttle, both of whom preceded him in death.

He is survived by a sister, Peggy (Robert) Cauble  of Modesto, Calif.;    brother Timothy Hanslik  of Celina; sister Pamela (Michael) Hays  of Union; nephew Justin Hays; and niece Amber Hays.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Terry Hanslik.

Mary E. Egbert, 80

Mary E. Egbert, 80, of Botkins, died at 12:32 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 1, 2014, at the Gardens in Wapakoneta.  

She was born on May 19, 1934, in New Bremen, the daughter of the late Walter and Lorena (Timmerman) Fischbach.  

On Oct. 7, 1955, she married Adrian Egbert, who survives in Botkins.  

Irvin J. Dues, 87

Irvin J. Dues, 87, of Minster, died at 6:20 p.m. Monday, Sept. 29, 2014, at his home.  

He was born on Oct. 9, 1926, in Minster, to the late John and Katherine (Brandewie) Dues.  

He married Juanita Goettemoeller on April 21, 1951, in Fort Loramie. She survives in Minster.  

Wendell L. Lovell, 75

Wendell L. Lovell, 75, passed away on Monday, Sept. 29, 2014.

He is survived by daughters, Pam (Dan) Sullivan and Sharon Lovell Petrey, grandchildren Michael (Katy) Brommeland, Josh Stephens, Ashley Sullivan and Logan Stephens, and by his companion, Laura McMillian.

Wendell was preceded in death by his parents, Mollie and Leonard Lovell, stepfather, Verner Ballinger and by his wife, Christine Lovell.

Ted Lewis Endel Sr., 84

Ted Lewis Endel Sr., 84, of St. Marys, died at 1:15 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 30, 2014, at St. Rita’s Medical Center in Lima.

He was born on July 29, 1930, in Toledo, to Clifford F. and Ruth Mae (Barker) Endel who preceded him in death.

On March 5, 1955, he married Marjorie Joan Johnson, and she survives in St. Marys.

Vandals Deface Stadium

ST. MARYS — Vandals defaced signs, bleachers, sidewalks and other items at Skip Baughman Stadium ahead of Friday night’s rivalry game with Celina.

The green and white paint could be found throughout the stadium and some of the vandalism included the phrases “Go Dogs” and “Celina Bulldogs.” Other acts of vandalism included spray painted profanity.

Wapak Man Arrested

WAPAKONETA — A Wapakoneta man was arrested Sunday night on charges of voyeurism and public indecency.

According to a news release issued by Wapakoneta Police Chief Russ Hunlock, officers responded to 303 W. Pearl St., Wapakoneta regarding a report of surreptitious recording activities inside the household. During the course of an investigation, officers arrested Bernard W. Carver, 65, 303 W. Pearl St., on charges of voyeurism and public indecency. The case remains under investigation and Hunlock declined further comment on the matter.
 

Outage Scheduled For Today

ST. MARYS — There will be a scheduled power outage in order to make repairs to the east circuit in the city of St. Marys. The outage will affect South Street to McClain Street, between Wayne and Front streets and all of South Park Drive, starting at 10 p.m. today. The outage is expected to last for four to four-and-a-half hours.

Church To Host Telecast

ST. MARYS — Calvary Christian Fellowship in St. Marys will host a national one-day worship event on Sunday that will link people across the country.

Harvest America, hosted by the Rev. Greg Laurie with Harvest Christian Fellowship in Riverside, Calif., will be speaking live from Dallas, Texas, beginning at 7 p.m. Sunday, at the Nazarene District Center J.E. Shankel Auditorium, located at 272 Jack Oak Point Road in St. Marys. The event is free and open to the public. Doors open at 5:30 p.m.
