Rolland Zimmerman, 90, of 3820 Hone-Weir Road in Celina, passed away at 1:55 p.m. Thursday, June 13, 2013, at Miller House, Celina. He was born on Jan. 19, 1923, in Celina, to the late Ralph and Elsie (Eichenauer) Zimmerman. On Sept. 14, 1945, he married Betty Lou Hays, who lives in Celina.
Also surviving are his son and daughter-in-law Craig and Carol Zimmerman, of Celina, three grandchildren, and nine great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his three brothers and sister-in-law, and his sister and brother-in-law.
Ruth Zimmerman, 77, formerly of St. Marys, died on Tuesday, June 11, 2013, in Concord, N.C.
Arrangements are being completed with the Miller — Long & Folk Funeral Home, 314 W. High Street in St. Marys, where visitation will be 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday.
NEW BREMEN — Victoria Wente considers herself shy — when she used to visit the fire station with her firefighter father, for example, she said it took a long time to be comfortable talking to people.
But that reticence has never kept her from going after what she wants.
The senior said several times, “I want what I want,” adding that she probably gets the trait from her father, who is also very focused.
“It’s made me driven,” Wente said “I have goals, and I want to get to them.”
With the addition of a seventh football division in 2013, the OHSAA released the breakdown of the 2013 football divisions on Thursday.
St. Marys will remain in Division III with its 293 boys. Both Minster (117 boys) and New Bremen (113 boys) will remain Division VI schools. Wapakoneta and Celina move down a division to DIII. Wapak has 343 boys and Celina has 327 boys Other WBL assignments include Kenton dropping to Divison IV. O-G stays in Division V. Shawnee, Elida and Defiance remain in Division III. Bath stays in Division IV.
CELINA — The two suspects accused in the shooting deaths of Robert Grube, 70, and his daughter Colleen Grube, 47, have been indicted on a slew of felonies, including murder.
On Thursday, a Mercer County grand jury issued indictments for Trevin M.A. Sanders Roark, 19, and Bryant L. Rhoades 22, on charges including aggravated murder, murder, involuntary manslaughter, kidnapping, aggravated robbery, robbery, aggravated burglary, burglary and theft in connection with the November 2011 killings of the Grubes in their rural Fort Recovery home.
Carol Lynn Jenkins-Huber, 79, of Waverly and formerly of Celina, passed away at 11:49 p.m. on Tuesday, June 11, 2013, in Centerville.
She was born on Sept. 19, 1933, in Celina to the late Henry Bud and Mary (Barber) Fredericks.
On July 1, 1996, she married Paul Huber, who survives in Centerville.
Thomas A. White III, 79, died on Thursday June 6, 2013, at Hospice of Butler and Warren County.
Mr. White was a proud veteran of the United States Navy.
Tom graduated from the University of Dayton and Ohio Northern College of Law.
He was an attorney and practiced for 51 years.
He enjoyed upholding the law the many personal relationships with his colleagues.
He was preceded by his wife of 50 years, Marcia White (nee Miller) in 2011.
Clinton Thompson, 72, of Behm’s Landing, Celina, died at 11:25 a.m. on Monday, June 10, 2013, at his residence.
He was born on Feb. 11, 1941 in Lee County, Va.
He was the son of George C. and Laura (Smith) Thompson.
On May 19, 1990, under the arbor he made at their home, he married Lynne Harris, who survives.
Dolores H. Stoner passed to eternal life on Saturday, June 8, 2013 and Kenneth Stoner joined her in life eternal on Sunday, June 9, 2013, from injuries sustained from an automobile accident in Jackson Township.
Kenneth was born on March 19, 1926, in Zelienople, Pa., the son of Theodore and Mary Peffer Stoner.
The family would later relocate to Newton Falls. It was on Aug. 3, 1929, that John and Mary Furchak Hildack welcomed the birth of their daughter, Dolores.
Daniel R. Eilerman, 59, of Willowdell Road, Yorkshire, passed away early Thursday morning, June 13, 2013, at the Miami Valley Hospital in Dayton.
Dan suffered a sudden cardiac event and had also been recovering from serious burns since May 14, 2013.
He was born on Feb. 5, 1954, in Coldwater, to Bernard and Mary Lou (Moeller) Eilerman.
On April 1, 1978, at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Maria Stein, Dan married Jeanette (Heitkamp) Eilerman who survives.
