CELINA — Work should soon begin on a project that one local economic development official says will continue the work to heal Grand Lake St. Marys.
Members of the Grand Lake St. Marys Lake Facilities Authority (LFA) approved a joint intergovernmental agreement that covers phase one and two of the Coldwater Creek treatment train and wetlands re-establishment project. The first two phases of the project deal with all the design and permitting work and construction administration of the estimated $2.5 million project.
Virginia Rinehart Buss, 86, of Bradenton, Fla., died on Tuesday, Oct. 21, 2014,
Mrs. Buss was born on Oct. 1, 1928, in New Bremen, and moved here 27 years ago from Orlando, Fla., where she lived since 1958.
Retired, Mrs. Buss was a social worker for the state of Florida for 16 years. She was a Girl Scout leader, an elder and member of Christ Church of Longboat Key and an active member in her beloved Zeta Tau Alpha. She was a voracious reader, active investor and avid knitter. She lovingly knitted prayer shawls and baby bonnets for many years.
Timothy J. Young, 56, of 12070 Plattner Pike, St. Marys, died unexpectedly at 4:09 p.m. Monday, Oct. 27, 2014, at Joint Township District Memorial Hospital in St. Marys.
He was born on June 8, 1958, in St. Marys, the son of James and Grace (Schrolucke) Young.
Norbert V. Schlater, 86, of Versailles, passed away on Sunday, Oct. 26, 2014, at 5:48 a.m. at Versailles Health Care Center, Versailles.
He was born on Feb. 17, 1928, in Fort Loramie, to the late Fred and Bernadine (Albers) Schlater.

ST. MARYS — Absentee voting has gotten off to a brisk start in Auglaize County.
As of Thursday, 2,467 residents requested absentee ballots be mailed to them ahead of the Nov. 4 General Election. Auglaize County Elections Board Director Michelle Wilcox said of that number, approximately 1,000 have be returned to the board of elections office.
