Sign up to be a part of some cool science experiments and activities at the New Bremen Library. Today, three sessions will be held at 1 p.m., 1:30 p.m., and 2 p.m. Make sure your name is on the list for some awesome science fun. Session size is limited. Call 419-629-2158 or stop by to register.

Treat Bingo for Teens will be held at 2 p.m. today at the St. Marys Community Public Library.

Jean A. Schrolucke, 67

July 8, 2014

Jean A. Schrolucke, 67, a resident of Shawnee Manor Nursing Home, and formerly of New Knoxville, died at 6:45 p.m. Thursday, July 3, 2014, at St. Rita's Medical Center in Lima.

She was born on Aug. 28, 1946, in Lima, the daughter of Carl and Wilhelmina “Minnie” (Kuck) Schrolucke.

She is survived by her three siblings, Carol Schrolucke of Mount Prospect, Ill.; Tedd (Becky) Schrolucke of Lima; and Lori Foster of Mount Prospect, Ill.; and by three nieces, Heather Schrolucke; Amber Schrolucke and Hattie Foster.

Everette E. Fannon, 92

July 8, 2014

Everette E. Fannon, 92, of 219 E. Second St., Rockford, died at 1 p.m. Sunday, July 6, 2014, at the Laurels of Shane Hill Nursing Home in Rockford.

He was born on Dec. 25, 1921, in St. Marys, the son of Lee and Ruth (Fee) Fannon.

He married Gloria Holtzapple on July 3, 1946, and she preceded him in death on Sept. 30, 2005.

Patty L. (Cornman) Rindler, 78

July 7, 2014

Patty L. (Cornman) Rindler, 78, of Minster, died at 1:26 a.m. Friday, July 4, 2014, at her residence.  

She was born on Feb. 23, 1936, in Charleston, W.Va., the daughter of the late James and Eliza (Smith) Willey.

On June 24, 1953, she married Frank A. Cornman Sr., who died on March 1, 1988.  

She later married Gerald Rindler on June 23, 1995, and he survives in Minster.  

Shirley L. Schrolucke, 85

July 7, 2014

Shirley L. Schrolucke, 85, of New Bremen, died at 8:45 a.m. Friday, July 4, 2014, at Elmwood Assisted Living of New Bremen.  

She was born on July 1, 1929, in New Bremen, the daughter of the late Robert W. Sr. and Bernice (Laut) Weinberg.   

On Aug. 17, 1947, she married Robert Schrolucke, who preceded her in death on Sept. 10, 2008.  

Survivors include her sons, Jack (Sara) Schrolucke and Gary (Deb) Schrolucke, both of New Knoxville, five grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

July 7: Tava Ridenour and her miniature horse Flip will be at the New Knoxville Library at 10:30 a.m. today. All ages are welcome.

A movie for all ages will be held at 11 a.m. today at the St. Marys Community Public Library.

Families are welcome to go on a mixed-up Fairy Tale adventure with the Minnetrista Theater Company at the New Bremen Library. The show will be held at 1 p.m. today.

Helen Maxine Price, 91

July 3, 2014

Helen Maxine Price, 91, of 16542 Mendon Road in Ohio City, died at 6:14 p.m. Tuesday, July 1, 2014, at Van Wert Inpatient Hospice.

She was born on Oct. 24, 1922, near Mendon, to Harry and Cecile (Terwilliger) Valentine.

On Dec. 5, 1945, in Ohio City, she married David Eugene Price, who survives.

Mary A. Post, 98

July 3, 2014

Mary A. Post, 98, of Fort Recovery, died on Wednesday, July 2, 2014, at Briarwood Village in Coldwater.

She was born on Feb. 16, 1916, in Chickasaw, to the late William and Antoinette (Wellman) Gross.

On Oct. 28, 1933, she married Anthony F. Post Sr., in St. Peter. He preceded her in death on Dec. 24, 1990.

Pamela Lou Pyles, 58,

July 3, 2014

Pamela Lou Pyles, 58, a resident of the Wapakoneta Manor Nursing Home, and formerly of Otterbein—St. Marys, died at 10:45 p.m. Sunday, June 29, 2014, at Wapakoneta Manor. She had lived most of her life in Beckley, W.Va.

 She was born on Nov. 21, 1955. Her parents were Curry and Mary Margaret “Peggy” (Cole)  Pyles.

She is survived by her brother, Dr. Michael (Susan) Pyles of Celina, and by her twin sister, Penelope Pyles of Nitro, W.Va.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

2 Pulled From Lake

July 2, 2014

MONTEZUMA — Two boaters were pulled out of Grand Lake St. Marys Wednesday afternoon after their sailboat turned over.

Grand Lake St. Marys Park Manager Brian Miller said they two men were out on a small sailboat when it turned onto its side near Safety Island, south of Bayview. One of the men's friends called the state park office to report the incident and Miller, along with the Mercer County Sheriff's Office, Montezuma Fire Department and Ohio Department of Natural Resources Division of Watercraft responded to the scene.
