Thelma Fannon, 97, formerly of 224 N. Cherry St., St. Marys, died at 8:50 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 9, 2014, at Celina Manor, Celina.
She was born Dec. 8, 1916, in Fairfield County, the daughter of W. A. and Edna Blanche (McClure) Steinmetz.
On Nov. 26, 1937, she married James Fannon, who preceded her in death Nov. 14, 1973.
ST. MARYS — With weeks more of winter weather left before spring, costs associated with snow removal are beginning to pile up for Auglaize County.
As of Friday, county crews have been dispatched 19 times this winter, including 18 since Dec. 6. The county has used 2,200 tons of its salt/grit mix — roughly the same amount it used all season last year.
“It’s been extremely active for us this year,” Auglaize County Engineer Doug Reinhart said. “This last event was extremely expensive, too.”

Doug Frye will return to St. Marys as the head football coach, pending board of education approval at the Wednesday, Jan. 15 board meeting. St. Marys Superintendent Shawn Brown on Friday morning confirmed that Frye’s recommendation would appear on next week’s board of education agenda.
The gears began turning on the Frye-to-St. Marys reunion on Thursday afternoon, as Frye informed the Wapakoneta team at an afternoon meeting that he would be stepping down.
Mary C. Rohrbaugh, 94, of Wapakoneta, died at 8:05 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 8, 2014, at Wapakoneta Manor.
She was born on Nov. 15, 1919, in Moulton, the daughter of Edward H. and Caroline M. (Fledderjohann) Arnett, who preceded her in death.
On June 19, 1946, she married James E. Rohrbaugh, and he died on Sept. 25, 1999.
