Mary Louise Neumeier, 91, died after an extended illness at her Silver Street home with her children encircling her at 11 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 10, 2013. Mary’s wish to remain in her home was made possible through the care of her loving sons, Dick and Matt. She was eager to re-join Elmer, who died on May 14, 2012, with whom she raised 19 children to adulthood. An infant daughter Victoria preceded the couple to heaven on Aug. 14, 1964. Their daughter Rebecca Mosler, who died on Sept. 6, 2012, was also there to welcome her mother home.
John Drees, 48, of Minster, died at 11:10 a.m. Friday, Aug. 9, 2013, at his home.Â
He was born on Sept. 13, 1964, in St. Marys, to the late Arthur P. and Rosalie (Noonan) Drees.Â
He is survived by sons Tyler and Alex, both of Minster; five sisters; three brothers.
He was preceded in death by his parents. Â
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Augustine Catholic Church, the Rev. Barry Stechschulte, celebrant.Â
Friends may call at the Hogenkamp Funeral Home, Minster from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Tuesday and from 9 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. Wednesday.Â
Paul T. â€śTomâ€ť Connors Sr., 63, of Wapakoneta, died at 3:15 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 8, 2013, at Hospice of Northwest Ohio, Perrysburg.
He was born on July 23, 1950, in Estil, Ky., the son of Thomas Burton and Valley (Cooley) Connors, who preceded him in death.
On April 9, 2010, he married Kathy Wagner, and she survives.
ST. MARYS — The 30th annual SummerFest is open for business.
The annual event, which draws crowds to Memorial Park all weekend, kicked off on Thursday with the opening ceremony. Before proclaiming the event open, St. Marys Mayor Pat McGowan touted SummerFest as a bridge across generations of St. Marys residents who left but the city but who come home for the event each year.

ST. MARYS — The ballot for the November General Election will feature a slew of contested races across the county, including a pair of contested school board races.
In St. Marys, the race for three open board of education seats will feature six candidates. Karl Dammeyer, 2645 Dowty Road, Janet Dicke, 149 Waterbury Court, Travis R. Kuenning, 10157 State Route 364, Brandon M. Meyer, 621 E. Spring St., Bob Valentine, 107 N. Wayne St., and Ralph A. Wiley, 123 Augustus St., are seeking the spots.
St. MARYS — The 2013 St. Marys Little Miss SummerFest Pageant, which took place on Wednesday evening in the Performing Arts Center of Memorial High School, started off with fun and dancing.
Eighteen girls in jean shorts and neon knee socks took the stage to the sound of Cyndi Lauper’s “Girls Just Want To Have Fun.” They did their opening dance, complete with pillow fights and smiling faces.
