Martha E. Kohlhorst, 87, of 811 W. Jay St., St. Marys, died on Monday, July 22, 2013, at her residence after a brief illness.
She was born on Sept. 18, 1925, in St. Marys, the daughter of John and Edna (Clark) Weadock.
She married Marlin Kohlhorst on Aug. 14, 1943, at the Zion Lutheran Church in St. Marys. She and Marlin would have celebrated 70 years of marriage on that day.
ST. MARYS — Two weeks after a majority of St. Marys City Councilors voted against making Greg Foxhoven the city's full-time safety-service director, they reversed the decision and removed the interim label from his title.
ST. MARYS — Low dissolved oxygen levels have caused fish to die in Grand Lake St. Marys.
Grand Lake St. Marys Park Manager Brian Miller said low dissolved oxygen levels are robbing fish of oxygen. Last week's heat wave also caused the water temperatures to top 80 degrees in some locations.
"We checked the dissolved oxygen levels this morning in the East Bank Marina and fishing ponds, and at 8 a.m. we had levels of zero," Miller said. "In the lake proper, we have 0.4 so with those types of levels, the fish will be stressed."
Albert J. Bustetter, 92, of Wapakoneta, died at 8:45 a.m. Friday, July 19, 2013, at Auglaize Acres.
He was born on July 27, 1920, in Wapakoneta, the son of John and Frances (Fischer) Bustetter, who preceded him in death.
On June 5, 1946, he married Evelyn A. Seitz, and she died on July 16, 2009.
David V. Gaerke, 57, of Coldwater, died on Thursday, July 18, 2013, at his home. He was born on March 27, 1956, in Coldwater, to the late Leonard Gaerke and Lillian (Will) Gaerke-Homan, who survives in Coldwater.
On May 19, 1979, he married Cindy L. (Bender) in St. Aloysius Catholic Church, Carthagena, and she survives in Coldwater.
Betty M. Homan, 78, of St. Henry, died on Friday, July 19, 2013, at the Gardens at St. Henry.
She was born on March 9, 1935, in Burkettsville, to the late Raymond and Agnes (Jacobs) Brunswick.
On Nov. 17, 1956, she married Ivo P. Homan in Burkettsville, and he survives in St. Henry.
Clay Jay Shaner Jr., 95, died at 11:55 a.m. Tuesday, July 16, 2013, at Golden Living Valley in St. Marys.
Clay was born on May 5, 1918, in Celina, to the late Henry Clay Shaner and Bessie Pearl (Miller) Shaner.
He married Vera Irene Lusk Shaner, who died in August 1991.
WAPAKONETA — Children in grades 3 through 12 from around the county filled the Junior Fair and Exhibit Buildings at the Auglaize County Fair Friday morning for 4-H Special Interest Project Judging.
The participants picked a project in categories ranging from woodworking and sewing to gardening and photography, completed that project, did a skills test the morning of the judging to prove they were the ones to complete their project, and sat for judges who asked them questions about what they did and what they learned from it.
Roger F. “Bud” Patton, 83, of Wapakoneta died at 9:45 p.m. Thursday, July 18, 2013, at his niece’s residence.
Funeral services are scheduled to begin at 11 a.m. Saturday at Schlosser Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Wapakoneta.
Burial will follow at Fairmount Cemetery near Uniopolis.
Friends may call from 9 a.m. until the time of the service Saturday.

Debra K. Hague, 55, of St. Johns, died at 1 a.m. Thursday, July 18, 2013, at St. Rita’s Medical Center, surrounded by her family.
She was born on July 2, 1958, in Coldwater, the daughter of Frederick Trafzer and Julietta (Kunk) Trafzer.
Her mother and stepfather, Julietta and Virgil Schwieterman, survive in Celina, and her father survives in Wapakoneta.
On July 21, 1979, she married Dennis A. Hague, and he survives.
