WAPAKONETA — Wapakoneta Fire and EMS have been dispatched to a collision with possible injuries on southbound I-75 under the 110 exit. A truck is reportedly spilling fuel. Other agencies have been called in to assist and traffic may be rerouted around the area.

LIMA — The St. Marys volleyball team took a big step forward this season with a second-half surge. Now they’ll try to make a big leap in the tournament on Saturday.
The Roughriders opened tournament play with a 25-15, 25-20, 25-11 win over Bath in a Division II sectional semifinal at Lima Senior on Wednesday.
St. Marys (12-11) advances to play Van Wert on Saturday at 3:30 p.m. at Lima Senior High School. The winner will face Defiance on Wednesday, Oct. 23 at 6:15 p.m. at Leipsic High School.
COLDWATER — It was a good day for the New Bremen Cardinals and New Knoxville Rangers volleyball teams Tuesday evening as both squads advanced to the Division IV sectional championship matches at Coldwater.
â€‹The Cardinals battled the Minster Wildcats in a five-set match early in the season, but Tuesday New Bremen had everything going their way as they defeated the Wildcats 25-22, 25-16 and 25-19 in the first semi-final.
â€‹In the second semi-final match the New Knoxville Rangers dominated the Spencerville Bearcats 25-9, 25-2 and 25-7.
LIMA — The New Knoxville boys soccer team has grown fond of playing on the turf at Lima Stadium. The success they’ve had there has raised expectations in the Ranger program, too.
New Knoxville’s Ryan Lageman scored three goals and K.V. Mooney added two more in New Knoxville’s 5-1 win over Lima Temple Christian in a Division III sectional final at Lima Stadium on Tuesday evening.
Enola G. Hirschfeld, 93, formerly of New Bremen, died at 7:23 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 15, 2013, at the Emerald Crossings of Dublin. She was born on Jan. 21, 1920, in St. Marys, the daughter of Franklin and Alvina (Luelleman) Luedeke. On July 5, 1942, she married Verlin Hirschfeld, who died on Dec. 24, 2011. Survivors include her children Gary (Kathy) Hirschfeld of Findlay, Craig (Sheila) Hirschfeld of Holland, Christine Kelser of Dublin, five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
NEW KNOXVILLE — The Auglaize County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the death of a man in the New Knoxville area.
Sheriff Al Solomon released details this morning concerning an investigation into the cause of death for a male subject found in a creek north of New Knoxville. At approximately 1:15 p.m. Wednesday, the sheriff’s office received a call from someone who had located a vehicle and a body in the creek located approximately a quarter mile north of the end of Industrial Park Drive in New Knoxville.
NEW KNOXVILLE — First United Church of New Knoxville celebrates 175 years this fall with a host of special events including a German buffet and concert on Oct. 26 and a post-service lunch on Oct. 27.
The church, founded in 1838, has served as a place bringing the community together and changing in step with the community, said the Rev. Dr. David Williams, pastor of the church. The first sermons were given in German.
Dale H. Fledderjohn, 90, of New Bremen, died 11:10 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 15, 2013, at the Elmwood Assisted Living of New Bremen.
He was born on July 14, 1923, near New Knoxville.
He was the son of Silas and Irma (Greber) Fledderjohn.
