Gary L. “Gizmo” Gossard Sr., 62, of Celina, passed away on Wednesday, Aug. 14, 2013, at St. Rita’s Medical Center in Lima.
He was born on Dec. 12, 1950, in Celina, the son of the late Melvin and Maxine (Zwiebel) Gossard.
He was a 1969 graduate of St. Marys Memorial High School.
Gary was a member of the Beaver Chapel Church.
He enjoyed hunting and collecting Native American artifacts. He also enjoyed helping with auctions. He loved meeting and talking with people and children.
Paul M. Johnides, 87, passed away at 2 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 15, 2013, at the Miller House in Celina.
Paul was from Wooster, where he lived most of his life and recently moved to Celina to be with his family.
He married Donalee Sue Arnette, who died on Aug. 6, 2013.
He was born on Aug. 23, 1925, to the late George and Ruth (Briggs) Johnides in Yorkville.
Dolores L. Homan, 90, formerly of McCartyville, died at 10 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 15, 2013, at Joint Township District Memorial Hospital, St. Marys.
She was born on May 21, 1923, in Frenchtown, to the late Joseph and Emma (Neargarder) Smith.
She married Aloys J. Homan on April 16, 1947, in Frenchtown. He preceded her in death on June 18, 1982.
James H. Maze, 80, of 700 Hillcrest Drive, St. Marys, died at 2:15 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 15, 2013, in the emergency department of Joint Township District Memorial Hospital.
He was born on March 13, 1933, in Chicago, Ill., the son of Clarence and Jessie (Jones) Maze.
He married Muriel Bensman on Aug. 3, 1957, at the St. Augustine Catholic Church in Minster; she survives at the residence.
ST. MARYS — In an effort to continue to market the city of St. Marys, the community will once again be highlighted in a series of videos that will appear online.
St. Marys Development Manager Susan Crotty is working with CGI Communications to produce video tour books for the city that will appear on Relocate.org, a website that provides information to those who are looking to move. The video, once completed, also will be available of the city’s website.

Aug. 18: A community supper will be served from 5 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. today at the ROC, 702 E. Spring St., St. Marys. It is eat-in only and the meal is free.
ST. MARYS — Otterbein Senior Living kicked off its annual fish fry Thursday night with root beer floats and a performance by Don Smithey, gospel and country guitarist.
Resident Life Director Dianna Uhlenhake said every year the tent goes up Thursday and there’s an event Thursday night that makes use of the tent. The event builds excitement for Saturday’s fish fry.
“The fish fry is our biggest event of the year,” she said. “We pull out all the stops.”
