NEW KNOXVILLE — The St. Henry Redskins outlasted the New Knoxville Rangers 25-20, 24-26, 26-24, 25-27, 15-11, in a Midwest Athletic Conference volleyball opener at The Barn on Thursday. Haley Horstman had 21 digs, 10 kills and 22 assists for the Rangers. Meg Reineke finished the game with 41 digs, two aces and seven kills. Kenzie Schroer had 11 kills and five assists. Rachel Leffel had six kills. Madison Lammers had four kills and a block. Kalyn Schroer added an ace. Jenna Schwieterman had three kills. New Knoxville is 2-3 and 0-1 in the MAC.
Robert J. Rain, 81, of Dayton, was taken by the Lord on Tuesday, Aug. 27, 2013.
Bob graduated from New Knoxville High School in 1951, where he played basketball and went on to the state tournament in 1947.
Mary Rose Bennett, 69, of Celina, passed away on Tuesday, Aug. 27, 2013, at her residence.
She was born on Dec. 8, 1943, in Eagle Pass, Texas.
Her parents, Maria Guadalupe (Garza) and Adolph Enriquez Rodriguez, are both deceased.
She married Greg Bennett on Oct. 23, 1965, and he died on March 8, 2009.
Surviving are her son and daughter-in-law Michael and Mandy Bennett of Rockford; two grandchildren; seven brothers and sisters.
She was also preceded in death by a brother and two sisters-in-law.
LaDonna P. Brown, 86, of Spencerville, died at 2:49 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 28, 2013, with her family at her side in St. Rita’s Medical Center, following a brief illness.
She was born on Nov. 11, 1926, in Spencer Township, Allen County, a daughter of William L. “Leo” and Bessie P. Moorman Savidge, who are deceased.
Lisa A. Neace, 48, of Celina, died on Monday, Aug. 26, 2013, in the emergency department of Joint Township District Memorial Hospital in St. Marys.
She was born on Aug.15, 1965, in Dayton, to Donnie R. and Constance (Whitney) Neace Sr.
Judith Boyer Bray, 66, of 1106 Nagel St., St. Marys, and formerly of Miamisburg, died on Wednesday, Aug. 28, 2013, at Hospice of Dayton.
She was born on Dec. 29, 1946, in Dayton, the daughter of Wilbur and Betty (Ennis) Boyer.
She married the Reverend Dr. Eddie Bray on May 15, 1993, and he survives in St. Marys.
Edith M. Harshbarger, 70, of Wapakoneta, died at 11:05 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 24, 2013, at her residence.
She was born on March 14, 1943, in Elida, to Arthur C. and Mary E. (Tucker) Smith who preceded her in death.
On June 16, 1989, she married Ricky D. Harshbarger and he survives in Wapakoneta.
