Walter H. Frey, 85, of 117 S. Main St. Osgood, died at 5:10 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 24, 2013, at his home.
He was born on July 29, 1928, in Mercer County to the late Joseph and Cecilia (Bruening) Frey. He married Bernice Homan on Aug. 7, 1954, in St. Anthony. She survives in Osgood.
William H. Cochran, 80, of 626 Hendricks Ave., St. Marys, died 9:50 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 24, 2013, at the Valley Nursing Home in St. Marys.
He was born on Oct. 11, 1932, in Logan County, West Virginia, the son of Thomas and Emma (Scott-Hager) Cochran.
He married Joann Jung on June 22, 1958, in New Bremen,and she preceded him in death on Dec. 7, 2010.
He is survived by his son, Charles (Theresa Crawford) Cochran of New Bremen; by a sister-in-law, Betty Long of Morristown, Tennessee.

CELINA — The Governor’s Cup Regatta returned and so did Dan Kanfoush’s grip on the race’s championship.
Kanfoush and owner Jim Sechler won their third straight and fourth-ever Governor’s Cup on Sunday.
“It’s one of the events we start talking about in May and how we’re going to try to win this thing,” Kanfoush said.
Celina Rotary Cross Country Invite
CELINA — The St. Marys girls cross country team continued its impressive early showing with a second-place finish at the Celina Rotary Cross Country Invitational at the Wright State University Lake Campus on Saturday morning while New Knoxville again received top-five finishes from its top runners.
CELINA — Hydroplane boats once again zipped across Grand Lake St. Marys as the Governor’s Cup Regatta returned this weekend.
Racers and their friends and family sported matching racing T-shirts and mingled under tents near their boats, waiting for the giant cranes to place the vessels in the water.
Saturday afternoon saw the start of heat racing, where the seven different classes of boats complete five laps, or a heat.
CELINA — Law enforcement officials in Mercer County are investigating a fatal crash that took place along U.S. 33 early Sunday morning.
Mercer County Central Dispatch received a 911 call at 3:31 a.m. Sunday reporting of a crash on U.S. 33 west of Lombard Road in Dublin Township. A maroon colored 2002 Jeep Liberty was west bound on U.S. 33. The Jeep left the north side of the roadway for an unknown reason, traveled through the side ditch and struck a tree.
