ST. MARYS — Crews were on the scene of a car fire shortly before noon Tuesday along westbound U.S. 33, near Kroger. A report from the Wapakoneta Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol is incomplete at this time. The St. Marys Fire Department responded the scene.
Sam Swartz, 74, of St. Marys, died on Monday, July 8, 2013, at St. Marys Living Center.
Arrangements are being completed with the Miller Funeral Homes in St. Marys
John “Jack” Goudy 75, of Wapakoneta, died at 1:32 a.m. Sunday, July 7, 2013, at Wapakoneta Manor.
He was born in Wapakoneta to Norval and Gertrude (Kupper) Goudy who preceded him in death.
In 1958, he married Marlene (Gudorf) Goudy at St. Augustine Church in Minster, and she survives in Wapakoneta.
Survivors also include three sons, Kurt, Bruce, and Tony Goudy; a daughter, Laura (Wade Tuttle) Kelley; nine grandchildren; three great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by three brothers.
Mark “Duke” Droesch, 90, of Maria Stein, died at 7 p.m. Sunday, July 7, 2013, at his home.
He was born on June 3, 1923, in Maria Stein, to the late Augustus and Catherine (Vondrel) Dreosch.
He is survived by one sister and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by one brother and three sisters.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Army during World War II.
Paulette S. King, 66, of 115 E. Anthony St., Celina, died on Thursday, July 4, 2013, at her residence.
She was born on Oct. 19, 1946, in Celina, to Herbert and Lois (Wierwille) Henning.
On March 27, 1965, in Port Clinton, she married Pastor Gary L. King, who survives.

ST. MARYS — The search for a permanent safety-service director is expected to restart following Monday night's St. Marys City Council meeting.
By a vote of 4-3, councilors voted down an ordinance that would have made Greg Foxhoven the permanent safety-service director. Foxhoven has served in an interim capacity for approximately five-and-a-half months.
Councilors Dennis Vossler, Bill Slemmons, Ron Ginter and Jim Harris voted against the measure while John Bubp, Robin Willoughby and Bob Fitzgerald voted in favor of it.

Allen Spring Sr., 89, formerly of rural New Knoxville, died at 11:24 p.m. Wednesday, July 3, 2013, at Atrium Medical Center in Middletown.
He was born on July 5, 1923, in Van Wert County, to Leonard and Rena Spring.
On Nov. 2, 1951, in Portland, Ind., he married Lucille Johnson, who survives.
