ST. MARYS — A county health official says the investigation into an outbreak of Legionnaires disease remains ongoing.
Auglaize County Health Commissioner Charlotte Parsons confirmed two area residents who both worked at AAP in St. Marys contracted the disease within the past month, including one who died as a result of the illness. Parsons declined to identify the names of those individuals, but noted second person is currently being treated for the disease.

50 Years Ago This Week – 1963
Betty L. Stolzenburg, 81, of Wapakoneta, died at 12:15 a.m. Monnday, July 22, 2013, at Auglaize Acres.
She was born on Nov. 11, 1931, in St. Marys, the daughter of Otis and Mary (Heath) Chilcoat, who preceded her in death. On April 12, 1948, she married Vernon F. Stolzenburg, and he died on Dec. 25, 2012.
Survivors include, four sons, Gary (Annette) Stolzenburg, Vernon, WS, Rick (Kim) Stolzenburg, Randy (Rebecca) Stolzenburg, and Steven Stolzenburg, all of Wapakoneta, 11 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
ST. MARYS — For the second month in a row, the unemployment rate in Auglaize County has increased.
In data released Tuesday by the Ohio Department of Job and Family Services, the unemployment rate for the county increased 0.3 percent in June to settle in at 5.4 percent. The increase, which followed a slight increase in May, means the unemployment rate has gone up by a half a percent during the last two months. A year ago, the county had an unemployment rate of 5.8 percent.
Aidyn Ray Kitchen, 26 days old, of St. Marys passed away at 7:34 a.m. Sunday, July 21, 2013, at the Mercer County Community Hospital in Coldwater.
He was born on June 25, 2013, in St. Marys, to Ashley M. Lawson of St. Marys and Dustin R. Kitchen of Celina.
Survivors include his maternal grandmother; paternal grandparents; by three great-grandparents; two uncles; two aunts.
He was preceded in death by his great-grandmother.
Ruth E. Bowsher, 87, of rural Spencerville, died at 11:45 p.m. Tuesday, July 23, 2013, in the Roselawn Manor Nursing Home in Spencerville.
Funeral arrangements are incomplete at the Thomas E. Bayliff Funeral Home in Spencerville.
Ward D. Horner, 75, of 162 Bayshore Court in St. Marys, died at 8:10 p.m. Monday, July 22, 2013, at his residence.
He was born on April 16, 1938, in Tipton, Ind. to Ward and Mary K. (Richardson) Horner.
James H. “Jim” Schaub, 75, of Wapakoneta, died at 4:55 p.m. Monday, July 22, 2013, at Lima Memorial Health System of complications following open heart surgery.
He was born on Dec. 7, 1937, in rural Wapakoneta, the son of Lewis and Ella (Morris) Schaub, who preceded him in death.
On Feb. 5, 1964, he married Betty J. Carroll, and she survives.
c, of Sarasota, Fla., formerly of New Knoxville, died on Saturday, May 4, 2013, at Sunnyside Retirement Community.
She was born on Dec. 23, 1919, near New Knoxville, to parents William L. and Matilda Bierbaum Hoelscher, who preceded her in death.
She was a graduate of New Knoxville High School and Ohio State University, where she earned a degree in accounting.
After college, she moved to New York City, where she worked as a certified public accountant for 31 years.
Ward Horner, 75, of St. Marys Township, died on Monday, July 22, 2013, at his residence. Arrangements are being completed with the Miller Funeral Homes in St. Marys.
