Minster TE Ethan Wolf verbals to University of Tennessee

Minster junior Ethan Wolf announced on Twitter on Wednesday night that he has verbally committed to play college football at the University of Tennessee and new head coach Butch Jones.

“after a long hard recruiting process .. i decided to become a Tennessee Volunteer!!” Wolf tweeted on Wednesday.

NEW BREMEN — New Bremen Board of Education members will move forward by looking at scheduling options for community meetings about the November bond issue, as numbers on the cost of a new building may come in as early as next week.

Board member Mandy Niekamp said she believed it would be a good idea to get started with community feedback and get the issue on the ballot for November, then if community feedback is completely negative, there would be time to take the issue off the ballot.

Lydia Kay Anthony, 45

Lydia Kay Anthony, 45, died on Friday, April 5, 2013, at her residence, of natural causes.

She was born on May 7, 1968, in Piqua, to parents David Raymond Anthony, who preceded her in death, and Linda Quinn, who survives in Florida.

She is also survived by two sons, Dustin Anthony and Chase Carr, both of Celina; three daughters, Nicole, Miranda and Sierra Carr, all of Celina; three brothers.

She was preceded in death by one brother and one sister.

Robert "Bob" Hensley, 39

Robert "Bob" Hensley, 39, of 1107 Motz St. in St. Marys, died on Wednesday, April 10, 2013.
Arrangements are being completed with the Miller Funeral Homes in St. Marys.

Timothy J. Chrisman, 54

April 11, 2013

Timothy J. Chrisman, 54, of 704 Devonshire Drive in Celina, died at 2:14 p.m. Tuesday, April 9, 2013, at Miami Valley Hospital in Dayton.

He was born on Sept. 12, 1958, in Celina, to Gerald and Virginia (Rupert) Chrisman.

Survivors include    father and step-mother Gerald (Faye) Chrisman  of Celina; three sisters; one brother; one half-brother; one half-sister; nieces and nephews; aunts, uncles and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Virginia Chrisman-Carter.

CELINA - A St. Marys man was shot and killed Wednesday in Celina, following an incident with law enforcement officials.

CELINA — An unidentified, shirtless man reportedly wearing a cowboy hat and waving a firearm was transported for injuries relating to a shooting on Market Street outside the Lakeshore Auto Sales Wednesday afternoon.

Mercer County Sheriff Jeff Grey said dispatchers received a 911 call about a man in Celina walking down the street with a weapon. The call was transferred to the Celina Police Department.

"Once the officer was on the scene, the next call was that shots were fired and we needed an ambulance," Grey said.

12 Arrested In Sweep

CELINA — Twelve people have been arrested following a drug investigation by the Grand Lake Task Force.

In a news release, Mercer County Sheriff Jeff Grey said the investigation was a combined effort of law enforcement agencies in Mercer and Auglaize counties. Deputies also were assisted by the Celina Police Department.

Those arrested were:

• James C. Prater, 23, 813 Sycamore St., Celina, on three counts of trafficking in heroin, fifth-degree felonies, and one count of trafficking in heroin, a fourth-degree felony.

Grenade Found In Wapak

WAPAKONETA — The Allen County Regional Bomb Squad safely removed a hand grenade from an alley in Wapakoneta Tuesday evening and detonated the explosive device at the Wapakoneta Police Department shooting range near the city composting facility on Wapak-Cridersville Road.

Carol Bogart, 408 Court St., was cleaning yard debris from under an evergreen tree along an east-west alley between Logan and Court streets in the 300 block of West Benton Street when she discovered what appeared to be a hand grenade under the tree.

NEW BREMEN – The New Bremen  Cardinals softball team got a bases-loaded single from Chelsea Russell in the bottom of the eighth inning to give the Cardinals a 6-5 victory over the Sidney Lehman Cavaliers Tuesday at New Bremen.
