ST. MARYS — Parkway put its full arsenal on display that has the Panthers hoping to be in the thick of the Midwest Athletic Conference title chase again in 2013.

Parkway got four hits and four runs batted in from Kylie Snyder while pitcher Sierra Fent tossed four no-hit innings with eight strikeouts in an 11-0 win over St. Marys at K.C. Geiger Park on Tuesday.

Snyder singled four times in five innings for Parkway. Rachel King doubled and Taylor Walls had a triple. Zoey Pond was 2-for-2 with two runs scored. Kayla Walls scored three runs.

Lima Central Catholic's 5-run third inning difference in win over Riders

ST. MARYS — The St. Marys baseball team couldn’t take advantage of its two-out bases-loaded situation early in the game. Lima Central Catholic turned that exact scenario a half inning later into what turned out to be the game-deciding rally.

The complexion of the St. Marys-Lima Central Catholic game on Tuesday — a game LCC won 8-4 — changed drastically over the short span of an inning.

St. Marys boys tennis downs Bluffton, 4-1

ST. MARYS — The St. Marys boys tennis team earned its first win of the spring with a strong performance against a senior-laden Bluffton squad on Tuesday night. The 4-1 victory inclued two singles wins and a  sweeping of the doubles matches.

Hiker To Walk Entire Canal

ST. MARYS — Hiking, for Maryland-based investor Ed Talone, is about more than the place he is at or the destination at which he plans to arrive.

It’s about a joy he finds in the act of walking, setting mile goals and finding food and kindness along the 50,000 miles of country he’s seen, and will continue seeing as he hikes the Miami Erie Canal up to Toledo through April 13, at a rate of approximately 17 miles per day.

James V. Rosengarten, 65

James V. Rosengarten, 65, of Celina, died on Tuesday, April 2, 2013, at Lima Memorial Hospital.

He was born on Jan. 5, 1948, in Celina, to the late Florian Rosengarten and Martha (Grisez) Rosengarten who survives in Celina.
