MINSTER — The Minster baseball team did whatever it took to get runs across against Delphos St. John's. It doesn’t take many when senior pitcher Adam Niemeyer is going like he was on Monday.

ST. MARYS — Kenton’s big southpaw Noah Furbush took a shutout into the seventh inning and struck out 10 St. Marys batters over his six-plus innings of work in Kenton’s 5-2 win on Monday night at K.C. Geiger Park.

Furbush gave way to Logan Nichols, who closed out the game after St. Marys finally pushed two runs across, but not before he had stymied the Roughriders’ bats for most of the game.

ST. MARYS — The Auglaize County Humane Society recently created a program that gives its animals the attention they need and crave, and provides area residents with all the benefits of being a pet owner without spending money or owning a pet.

The “buddy system,” organized by Events Coordinator and Volunteer Coordinator Sonya Osting, pairs a volunteer or “buddy” with a specific animal residing at the humane society.
