Beverly Eichenauer, 64, of Celina, passed away on Tuesday, March 12, 2013, at St. Rita's Medical Center in Lima.
She was born on March 19, 1948, in Kona, Ky. to parents Jimmy and Gaynelle Potter Ables. Her father survives in Xenia. Her mother preceded her in death, along with one brother.
She married Dennis Eichenauer on July 10, 1971, and he survives.
She is also survived by two daughters, Laurie (Jim) Hendricks and Becky (Dusty) Weitzel, both of Celina; a brother; a sister; a brother-in-law; three grandchildren.
Mary Susan Mitchell, 92, of rural Lima, died on Thursday, March 14, 2013, in her daughter’s home, Mary (Charles) McPheron, west of Lima.
Funeral arrangements are incomplete at the Thomas E. Bayliff Funeral Home in Spencerville, where friends may call from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday.
Jessalyn L. Miller, 92, formerly of 228 N. Cherry St. in St. Marys, died at 3:40 a.m. Thursday, March 14, 2013, at the Miller House in Celina.
She was born on Sept. 4, 1920, in Wapakoneta, to Vernon O. and Emma M. (Rohrbach) Miars.
On May 6, 1938, in Portland, Ind., she married Wiley Wayne Miller, who died on Oct. 23, 1991.
Doyle M. Lhamon, 88, of 875 Meadow Lane in St. Marys, died on Thursday, March 14, 2013, at JTDM Hospital in St. Marys.
He was born on May 14, 1924, in Marion, to Clarence and Magdalena (Loegel) Lhamon.
He was first married to Doris M. Howell, who died on July 13, 1975. He later married Mary Elizabeth Fiebelkorn, who survives.
Harvey J. Schmiesing, 85, of 11755 Brandewie Road, Fort Loramie, died at 6:20 p.m. Wednesday, March 13, 2013, at his home.
He was born on April 1, 1927, in Minster, to the late John and Rose (Sommer) Schmiesing.
He married Viona Prenger on Oct. 18, 1950, in St. Joseph Catholic Church, Egypt. She survives in Egypt.
He is also survived by a son, Paul Schmiesing and Beth Berning, Egypt; daughter Kathy and Lester Tobe, Egypt; three grandchildren; a great-grandson; a sister; a brother; two sisters-in-law.
ST. MARYS — The 2013 Annual St. Marys Area Chamber of Commerce Banquet was held Thursday at the St. Marys Eagles to honor local business and business owners who have brought something exceptional to the city.
The Builder of Bridges award is one of the most prestigious of these honors. Last night’s ceremony saw two new community members added to the ever-growing list of those people who the chamber recognizes as outstanding citizens in their endless contribution to the St. Marys area.
ST. MARYS — A St. Marys police officer and an Auglaize County sheriff’s deputy have been placed on administrative leave following an officer-involved shooting on Derrick Street Wednesday night.
The Auglaize County Sheriff’s Office received a 911 call at 10:04 p.m. Wednesday indicating the caller, who was at 601 Derrick St., St. Marys, was going to shoot whoever responded to the residence. The caller repeated the threat twice and as the dispatcher inquired about the problem, the caller hung up.
Hazel M. Fireoved, 91, of Mendon, passed away on Tuesday, March 12, 2013, at Colonial Nursing Center, Rockford.
She was born on Aug. 16, 1921, in Center Township, Mercer County, to parents Purn Ray and Rhoda Hannah Newcomb Copeland.
She married Lawrence Delbert Donovan on Aug. 16, 1940, and he preceded her in death in 1949.
She married Wayne Eugene Fireoved on May 30, 1956, and he survives.
Albert F. Freytag, 87, of 2233 State Route 362, Minster, died at 10:23 a.m. Wednesday, March 13, 2013, at Joint Township Memorial Hospital, St. Marys.
He was born on Nov. 21, 1925, in Fort Loramie, to the late Albert and Amelia (Boerger) Freytag.
He married Marjorie M. “Marj” DeLaet on June 12, 1948, at St. Michael Catholic Church, Fort Loramie. She survives in Minster.
Virgil E. Anspaugh, 95, of Mendon, died on Tuesday, March 12, 2013, at the Laurels of Shane Hill, Rockford, of natural causes.
He was born on April 21, 1917, in Berne, Ind., to parents Edward and Sarah Wendel Anspaugh, both of whom preceded him in death.
On June 10, 1937, he married Charlotte Shope, who preceded him in death on June 7, 2009.
He is survived by a son, Floyd and Dorothy Anspaugh of Mendon; four grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren.
