Dewaine Byerley, 76, of St. Marys, died on Saturday, Feb. 16, 2013, at St. Marys Living Center.

Emma Spaulding - Allan, 72, of St. Marys, died on Monday, Feb. 18, 2013, at Celina Manor Nursing Home. Arrangements are being completed with the Miller Funeral Homes in St. Marys.
Raymond Carmichael, 70, passed away on Sunday, Feb. 9, 2013.
Raymond was born in Mt. Sterling, Ky., on Dec. 21, 1942. He was the son of Wilma Martin Carmichael of Mt. Sterling, Ky., and the late William Earl Carmichael.
He is survived by his wife, Kathy Lee Carmichael; son, Brian Carmichael; daughters, Dena Ziglar and husband, Jaime of Harrisburg, Haley Throne and husband, Rob of Wilmington, Terri Seagraves and Kerri Seagraves, both of Charlotte; a brother; two sisters; eight grandchildren; two great-grandchildren.
Dorothy E. (Quellhorst) Schwepe, 94, St. Marys, died at 1 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 17, 2013, at the Lantern Madison Living Center in Madison. Arrangements are pending at Cisco Funeral Home, St. Marys.

MONTEZUMA — Dozens of friends, family and strangers gathered at a Montezuma business Saturday afternoon to help support a family that was rocked by tragedy on Dec. 23.
ROCKFORD — A Rockford man kept law enforcement officials at bay for several hours before finally surrendering Saturday morning.
At 6:31 a.m. Saturday, Mercer County dispatchers received a phone call reporting shots had been fired at 310 N. Franklin St., Rockford. Deputies and Rockford Police Chief Paul May responded to the scene. Investigators determined Thurman Whitted Jr., 58, of Bridge Street, and his girlfriend were engaged in a domestic dispute, when Whitted entered the bedroom and allegedly fired one round from a handgun.
Madeline C. Maurer, 72, of 79 S. Main St., Fort Loramie, died at 11 p.m. Friday, Feb. 15, 2013, at her home after a long battle with cancer.
She was born on July 18, 1940, in Fort Loramie to the late John and Victoria (Borchers) Albers. She married James R. Maurer on Oct. 28, 1961 at St. Michael Catholic Church, Fort Loramie. He survives in Fort Loramie.
Billy Joe “Bill” Stephenson Jr., 58, of rural Spencerville, died at 8:28 a.m. Friday, Feb. 15, 2013, at St. Rita’s Medical Center, from complications from a fall on ice at his work in Delphos on Jan. 28.
He was born on Feb. 27, 1954, in St. Marys, a son of Billy Joe and Ruth Evelyn Glasco Stephenson Sr., who survive in Spencerville.
Sylvia M. Lengerich, 76, of Fryburg, died at 9:47 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 16, 2013, at Auglaize Acres.
She was born on June 24, 1936, in Leicestershire, England, the daughter of James and Marie (Rose) Reed, who preceded her in death.
On Jan. 31, 1959, at the Church of the Blessed Sacrament, Leicester, England, she married John G. Lengerich, and he died on June 26, 2001.
John Douglas “Doug” Brookhart, 71, of St. Marys, died of a sudden illness at 2:50 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 16, 2013, at Joint Township District Memorial Hospital in St. Marys, with his loving family at his side.
He was born on Feb. 26, 1941, in Parkersburg, W.Va., the son of Earl and Eloise (Waterman) Brookhart.
He married Mary Alyce Smith on Jan. 20, 1962, and she survives at the residence.
