CELINA — The FBI and Celina Police Department continue to investigate a bank robbery that took place Friday afternoon.
Gertrude R. McMullen, 91, of 1039 Williams St., St. Marys, died at 7:40 a.m. Friday, Nov. 15, 2013, at her residence.
She was born on Oct. 22, 1922, in Auglaize County, the daughter of Olan “Earl” and Opal (Koehn) Raymond.
She married Frank W. McMullen on Nov. 13, 1941, and he preceded her in death on Oct. 8, 2005.
She is survived by her two sons: Charles (Jeanne) McMullen, of Beavercreek; Gary (Ginger) McMullen, of St. Marys; and by one granddaughter, Deanna (Joe) Grimes, of Dayton.
John J. Truax, 89, of rural Spencerville, died at 6:15 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 14, 2013 in the Roselawn Manor Nursing Home in Spencerville, following a brief illness.
He was born on March 21, 1924, in Franklin, Ohio, son of Glen A. and Jennie S. Kelly Truax, who are deceased.
ST. MARYS — Nine people, including a St. Marys woman, were arrested Friday morning as part of a drug investigation conducted by the Grand Lake Task Force.
The task force served the grand jury indictments following an extensive investigation. Arrested Friday were:
• Lesley Oakes, 31, of Lima, on four counts of trafficking in cocaine.
• Ross Durr, 40, of Lima, on three counts of trafficking in cocaine.
CELINA — People's Bank has reportedly been robbed in Celina. More details will be posted as they are released by law enforcement. Scanner traffic indicates officials are looking for a silver mini van, possibly with three occupants. More will be posted as details are released.
ST. MARYS — An indirect threat prompted a local school to go on lockdown Friday morning.
At approximately 10 a.m., St. Marys Memorial High School and Middle School were placed on lockdown as a result of an indirect threat from outside the school district. St. Marys Superintendent Shawn Brown confirmed there was no direct threat made against any student or teacher.
A pair of St. Marys Roughriders earned First Team All-Western Buckeye League honors for their work on the gridiron this fall.
Senior safety Jared Knous was named First Team All-WBL defense. Knous intercepted a WBL-best eight passes, led the Roughriders in tackles with 71, broke up ten passes, caused two fumbles, recovered two fumbles and blocked two extra point attempts.
St. Marys junior tight end Quinn Zaerr was named First Team All-WBL on offense. Zaerr caught 14 passes for a team-best 194 yards.
Craig Alan Rush, 53, of Logan, formally of St. Marys, passed away on Tuesday Nov. 12, 2013, from a tragic car accident.
Craig was born on Jan. 12, 1960, to Ted and Jeanne (Burden) Rush in Portsmouth, Va., Naval Hospital.
On June 24, 2000, he married Jennifer Beam of Fort Jennings.
