December 26th
Mary Jane Liming, 85, of 812 Greenvale Ave. in St. Marys, died at 2:23 a.m. Friday, Dec. 21, 2012, at Gardens of Celina.
She was born on March 19, 1927, in Arcanum to Arthur and Edna (Allebaugh) Webster.
On July 28, 1945, in Fairborn, she married Ervin Liming, and he died on March 3, 1974.
Survivors include sons Gary (Joann) Liming of St. Marys and Joey Liming of St. Marys; daughter Nancy (David) Liette of St. Marys; 11 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren.
Michele L. Barhorst, 31, of 152 Wind Chase Way, Madisonville, Tenn., and formerly of Celina, died at 2:30 a.m. Sunday, Dec. 23, 2012, on I-75 near Dayton, as the result of injuries suffered in an auto accident.
She was born on April 3, 1981, in St. Marys, the daughter of Lavern and Nancy (Gerlach) Moeller and they survive in Celina.
She married Scott Barhorst on July 27, 2002; he also died in the accident.
Scott H. Barhorst, 37, of 152 Wind Chase Way, Madisonville, Tenn., and formerly of St. Marys, died on Sunday, Dec., 23, 2012, from injuries suffered in an auto accident on I-75 near Dayton.
He was born on Aug. 26, 1975, in St. Marys, the son of James and Constance (Clune) Barhorst.
He married Michele L. Moeller on July 27, 2002; she died in the accident, as well.
December 24th
ST. MARYS — More than 600 children in the St. Marys school district received Christmas gifts — and some tasty food — thanks to an annual program that has been helping local residents for more than five decades.
At 7 a.m. today, scores of Goodfellows hit the streets of St. Marys to spread Christmas cheer to local families. Each year, the program helps hundreds of children in the school district, as well as their families.
December 23rd
Lahoma J. (Binion) Reineke, 69, of St. Marys, died at 9:02 p.m. Friday, Dec. 21, 2012, at her residence.
She was born on Feb. 18, 1943, in Fairfield, Calif., to Thomas and Maude (Hopper) Binion, both of whom preceded her in death. On Aug. 4, 1990, she married Robert L. Reineke, and he survives in St. Marys.
Pastor John W. Daniel Sr., 80, of 15786 State Route 66, St. Marys, died at 12:30 p.m. Friday, Dec. 21, 2012, at St. Rita’s Medical Center in Lima.
He was born on Jan. 23, 1932, in Pineville, Ky., the son of Willie Lee and Icy Mae (Partin) Daniel.
He married Pauline Rhodes on Jan. 13, 1951, and she survives at the residence.

ST. MARYS — Senior Tyler Parent is about as involved as a student can be at St. Marys Memorial High School — the 17-year-old participates in soccer, the marching band, the concert band, bowling and tennis.
Parent plays outside midfield on the Roughrider soccer team, and has had some exciting moments this past season.
ST. MARYS — Sherry Warner had planned to do her Christmas shopping in Columbus on Friday, but the snow storm that blanketed the region changed her mind.
“I decided to shop local. I think the snow did everyone a favor,” she said.
Kohl’s associate Shelby Ruppert agreed, as heavy lines transformed the four customer service lanes, normally for returns, into checkout counters.
“This whole week has been crazy,” she said. “Tomorrow’s supposed to be awful.”
CELINA — The St. Marys wrestling team swept a pair of Western Buckeye League matches at Celina High School on Thursday night to run its league record to 4-0 in dual matches.
