Mary Anne Zimmerman, 65, of Spencerville, died at 8:15 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 15, 2012, at Roselawn Manor Nursing Home in Spencerville.
She was born on Oct. 25, 1946, in Lima, to Fred R. “Dick” and Mary C. Scheufler Neil, and they preceded her in death.
On Aug. 15, 1981, she married Richard A. “Dick” Zimmerman, and he survives in Spencerville.
Chester Steven “Sonny” Browder, 65, of 11514 N. Hwy 41, Farmersburg, Ind., died at 5:33 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 14, 2012, at Sullivan Community Hospital, Sullivan, Ind.
He was born on Aug. 17, 1946, in St. Marys, to Paul Browder and Bonnie E. (Vanover) Browder, and they preceded him in death.
On April 18, 1970, he married Rebecca Sutherland, and she survives.
Mildred M. Wolfal, 90, formerly of St. Marys, died on Saturday, Feb. 11, 2012, at Santa Rita Nursing Center in Green Valley, Ariz.
She was born on April 21, 1921, in Spencerville, to Ralph and Amy (Snyder) Clark, and they preceded her in death.
She is survived by a son, Richard (Mary Ann) Jones of Dumas, Ark.; a daughter Susan Beahrs of Sahuarita, Ariz., 10 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; 10 great-great-grandchildren; a sister, Ruth (Lowell) Miller of Spencerville.
ST. MARYS — A local official is hoping to bring back competitive fishing events on Grand Lake St. Marys.
Grand Lake St. Marys State Park Manager Brian Miller noted the park office recently sent out letters soliciting groups to return their fishing tournaments to the lake.
“Kara Birt came up with the idea,” Miller said, noting the park office manager was active in sending the letters. “Several years ago, we had 100s of competitive fishing tournaments on the lake.”
ST. MARYS — Members of a city committee got a sneak peek at the 2012 street program for St. Marys.
Interim Safety-Service Director Craig Moeller unveiled the tentative 2012 street program for the city. The project, with an estimated cost of $577,100, focuses on the reconstruction of 1,800 feet of Shipman Road.

ST. MARYS — A Grammy award-winning Christian artist will visit St. Marys next month to perform, speak and show her movie.
The Family Life Center of Auglaize County will host a Pro-Life Event at 7 p.m. March 24, featuring Rebecca St. James. The event will be held at Wayne Street United Methodist Church, 150 E. Spring St., St. Marys, and proceeds will benefit the Family Life Center of Auglaize County and Mission Pre-Born.
ST. MARYS — Local high school students recently participated in a regional competition this month, with many of them moving onto the next level — the state level — in Columbus.
Memorial High School students in DECA — or Distributive Education Clubs of America — attended the District 3 Fall Career Development Conference held Feb. 1 at Bluffton University.

NEW BREMEN — During their meeting Tuesday evening, New Bremen Village Councilors discussed an option that would help with property maintenance within their village.
New Bremen Mayor Jeff Pape noted he spoke with the mayor of Jackson Center and the topic of property maintenance came up. Jackson Center’s mayor noted his village uses NIC — or National Inspection Corporation — out of Dayton for its property maintenance enforcement.
