ST. MARYS — A local dog grooming business will be receiving national media coverage, as they are featured in the September issue of a national pet magazine.
DogsRus Styling Boutique and Barkery, which is located at 430 W. Spring St., is featured in the September issue of Pet Age magazine for their work helping out area pet rescues.
“We do a lot with the dog warden,” Owner Shelly Fledderjohann said. “When they get dogs, they bring them here and we’ll groom them.”
WAPAKONETA — As the evening sun sank below the horizon and a bright, white moon rose in the eastern sky, people streamed onto the southwest lawn of the Armstrong Air & Space Museum to honor Neil Alden Armstrong who lived his life humbly, honorably and modestly by giving a wink at the moon.
Rita E. (Mersman) Gibbons, 89, of 630 N. Cherry St., Celina, died at 7:15 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 28, 2012, at the Otterbein St. Marys Retirement Community.
She was born on Sept. 6, 1922, in Celina, to Albert and Nora (Fortman) Mersman, and they preceded her in death.
On June 2, 1945, she married John C. Gibbons, and he preceded her in death on Dec. 12, 2008.
Marie E. Killian, 92, of New Bremen, formerly of Philadelphia, Pa., died at 6 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 28, 2012, at the Elmwood Community of New Bremen.
She was born on Jan. 1, 1920, in Stara Lubovnia, Slovak Republic, the daughter of Joseph and Gizella (Raab) Kuckovsky.
On March 2, 1946, she married Anthony J. Killian Sr., and he preceded her in death on Jan. 20, 1993.

WAPAKONETA —A wink is just the closing and opening of one eye quickly. The simple gesture can be a sign of greeting or affection.
People can gather and give that sign of affection to honor Wapakoneta’s favored son, Neil Armstrong, the first person to walk on the moon, and to fulfill a request of the family during the “Wink at the Moon” ceremony at 8:30 p.m. today at the Armstrong Air & Space Museum.
WAPAKONETA — Five Auglaize County residents were recently arrested following a four-month investigation by members of the Grand Lake Drug Task Force.
In a news release issued this morning, Auglaize County Sheriff Al Solomon said the arrests were made on Aug. 13 and Aug. 24.
Those arrested were:
• Samuel C. Jacobs, 25, of Wapakoneta, on four counts of trafficking in heroin and one count of trafficking in cocaine.

NEW BREMEN — The New Bremen Cardinals volleyball team picked up their first victory of the season Monday evening as they defeated the Botkins Trojans in three games 25-11, 25-14 and 25-21.

NEW BREMEN 161, PARKWAY 162
New Bremen pushed its record to 4-0 on the season in Midwest Athletic Conference play after narrowly defeating Parkway 161-162 at Deerfield on Monday afternoon. New Bremen overcame Parkway’s Jordan Bollenbacher’s medalist 35 and Brian Shatzer’s 38 with its depth. New Bremen’s Darin Bergman fired a 37 and Alex Britton and Travis Bertelsen each shot 40s. Tyler Hagen and Alex Feltz both had 44s.
