The St. Marys Lakers pushed themselves above the .500 mark for the first time since their season-opener when they were 1-0 with an 11-5 victory over Bradfield Center.
St. Marys dug themselves in a one-run hole to start the game, but quickly responded with two runs in the bottom of the first inning and five more over the next three innings.

ST. MARYS — After extensive discussion Wednesday evening, board members moved to table a resolution authorizing MSA Sport to conduct an outdoor athletic master plan.
ST. MARYS — More than 20 girls took to the PAC stage at Memorial High School Wednesday night, dancing, smiling and curtsying in front of a packed crowd in hopes to be crowned the 2012 SummerFest Little Miss, a title that Emma Freewalt ultimately took home.
The 21 contestants were judged on an introduction, their model walk and an interview, and four were named to the 2012 SummerFest Little Miss Court. Emma, the daughter of Jeremy and Christie Freewalt, said she enjoyed her experience in the Little Miss SummerFest Pageant.
