Eleanor L. Wolfe, 91, formerly of 402 S. Main St., New Knoxville, died on Thursday, Aug. 9, 2012, at Cridersville Health Care Center.
She was born on June 4, 1921, in Kenmore, the daughter of Ausker and Mary (Brant) Imler, and they preceded her in death.
On June 2, 1943, she married Dr. Herbert S. Wolfe, while he was preparing for duty as a medical officer in World War II. Herbert preceded her in death in 2002.
Maurice J. Stammen, 80, of New Bremen, died at 1:31 p.m. Monday, Aug. 13, 2012, at the St. Marys Living Center.
He was born on July 3, 1932, in New Weston, the son of Norbert and Frances (Westgerdes) Stammen, and they preceded him in death.
On July 4, 1957, he married Joan Hamberg, and she survives in New Bremen.
He is also survived by his sisters, Laura Sudhoff of Fort Recovery and Dolores Robbins of Celina; a brother, Harold (Irene) Stammen of New Bremen; a number of nieces and nephews.
NEW BREMEN — After experiencing a leak in the roof during the summer, administrators are working to assemble a team to create a plan of action for building maintenance on New Bremen Elementary School.
Superintendent Howard Overman said a contractor came out and took samples of the roof and recommended that approximately 80 percent of the roof be replaced.
ST. MARYS — After less than six months on the job, the city’s safety-service director is resigning.
Jason Little, who was hired by Mayor Pat McGowan in February, announced his resignation this morning. McGowan told The Evening Leader Little was unable to sell his home in Washington Courthouse and that his wife accepted a teaching position in its school district.
