St. Marys' 2012 fall sports schedules are attached below.
Drew Jacobs became the 46th St. Marys National Little League player to win the Galen Cisco Award, which is given out by Cisco and the St. Marys Rotary Club.
Jacobs was given a plaque by former major league pitcher and pitching coach Galen Cisco in a ceremony at K.C. Geiger Park.
The award has been presented by the St. Marys Rotary Club since 1965 in honor of Cisco, a Memorial High School grad, an Ohio State football captain and major league pitcher who won an college football national championship and a World Series in his career.
ST. MARYS — The prosecuting attorney for Auglaize County asked judges from the Third District Court of Appeals to reject a motion seeking an order of acquittal in the case involving Douglas Wine.
NEW BREMEN — Voters felt the need for a new K-8 building was “neither clear nor compelling,” according to the results of a community survey issued in April.

ST. MARYS — The United Way of Auglaize County is raising awareness about hunger in the community as well as helping restock area food pantries with its annual food drive this weekend.
The United Way of Auglaize County’s fourth annual Christmas in July Food Drive will be held from 9 a.m. to noon on Saturday and Sunday at markets around Auglaize County. United Way of Auglaize County Director Randy Fisher said the food drive has two goals.
MINSTER — The Minster Board of Education received an update on the school’s technology plan, as well as an update concerning the playground at the elementary building during its meeting Monday night.
Technology Coordinator Greg Berning presented to the board about the three-year technology plan, which began last school year. This plan included upgrading computers, software, printers and copiers, the creation of an additional computer lab, the installation of numerous Smart Boards and an upgraded website.

“Leader Look Back” is a collection of stories and headlines from 75, 50 and 25 years ago this week. This week’s edition examines stories from July 10-16, 1937, 1962 and 1987.
75 years ago: B.A. Myers, of Celina, purchased Edgewater Park via a sheriff’s sale for $10,565. The park was appraised at $14,000 and could not sell for less than two-thirds of that price.
ST. MARYS — A wind storm that blew through the region two weeks ago may have had some local residents reminiscing about a tornado that toppled a water tower, downed trees and blew roofs off structures two decades ago.
On July 12, 1992, an EF 2 tornado ripped through St. Marys and caused extensive damage throughout the city. The tornado, coupled with more than 7 inches of rain in a 12-hour period, kept city crews and power companies busy for days after the winds and rains passed.
