Sales To Wrap Today

ST. MARYS — A local church and school are again offering its annual garage sale that spans multiple rooms at the school building, with sales wrapping up this afternoon.

The annual Holy Rosary Garage Sale kicked off on Thursday. Peg Larkin, who organizes the sale with Sue Halko, noted they stayed open later on Thursday.

“We stay open later on Thursdays with it being the first day,” Larkin said, noting the sale was open until 4 p.m. Friday. “We’ll be here from 8 to noon on Saturday.”

MECCA To Mark Trails Day

ST. MARYS — Running, biking, dog walking and hiking are just a few of the activities occurring nationwide today in celebration of the 20th annual National Trails Day.

Joann M. Grisez, 59

June 1, 2012

Joann M. Grisez, 59, of 4275 State Route 47, Fort Loramie, died on Friday, June 1, 2012, at her residence.

She was born on Aug. 18, 1952, in Celina, to Vincent and Olivia (Quinter) Mescher, and they preceded her in death.

On Aug. 6, 1977, in Osgood, she married Lawrence Grisez, and he survives in Fort Loramie.

She is also survived by her daughters, Pamela (Jason) Carl of Huber Heights and Jennifer Grisez of Fort Loramie; two grandchildren; four siblings.

Homer L. Stutsman, 75

June 1, 2012

Homer L. Stutsman, 75, of Botkins, went home to be with the Lord at 6 p.m. Thursday, May 31, 2012, at his home surrounded by his loving family.

Homer was born on Feb. 5, 1937, in Sidney, to Frances (Shannon Stutsman) Kah and Homer Woodrow Stutsman, and they preceded him in death.

On Oct. 4, 1958, he married Roslyn (Ahlers) Stutsman, and she survives.

Scout Earns High Honors

 NEW BREMEN — After accumulating more than 122 hours of work, Alex Speelman, 18, of New Bremen, received his Eagle Scout Award on May 20 in a ceremony at the American Legion Post 241.

Artist Displays Paintings

ST. MARYS — A local art center will soon be closing on one exhibit and opening another.

Through today, Lindsay Cooper, of Botkins, is showcasing her original paintings at Arts Place’s Collective Center on Spring Street as part of “Moments.”

“There are 16 pieces,” said Mary Hone with Arts Place.

Cooper holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts in art education with a specialization in painting from Bowling Green State University. She enjoys painting animals and landscapes, but focuses on portraits.

Loutisha L. Francis, 44

June 1, 2012

Loutisha L. Francis, 44, of 14075 Glynwood-New Knoxville Road, St. Marys, died on Wednesday, May 30, 2012, at the Cleveland Clinic following an extended illness.

She was born on Nov. 18, 1967, in Welch, W.Va., the daughter of John and Eunice (Flanagan) Coldiron, and her father preceded her in death. Her mother survives her in St. Marys.

On Aug. 15, 1987, she married Donald D. Francis, and he survives at the residence.
