Rose E. Keith, 93, of 231 S. Main St., St. Marys, died at 4:39 p.m. Sunday, June 3, 2012, at Joint Township District Memorial Hospital in St. Marys.
She was born on April 9, 1919, in Lily, Ky., to George and Mary (Hoskins) Thompson, and they preceded her in death.
In 1953, she married Elmer Keith, and he preceded her in death on April 9, 1978.
Richard E. “Dick” Place, 87, of rural Cridersville, died at 8:35 a.m. Sunday, June 3, 2012, at Otterbein-Cridersville Senior Living Center, where he had resided since January.
He was born on Jan. 23, 1925, in Spencerville, to Arthur L. and Sylvia I. Sutton Place, and they preceded him in death.
On May 20, 1950, he married Beryl M. Patterson, and she survives.
Eleanora E. Kill, 90, of Spencerville, died at 2:35 a.m. Sunday, June 3, 2012, at the Hospice of Hamilton Care Center following a short illness.
She was born on April 28, 1922, in Delphos, to Leo and Eleanora Langmeyer Sendelbach, and they preceded her in death. Since her mother died at her birth, she was raised and adopted by I. V. and Laura Gemke, and they preceded her in death.
On June 19, 1948, she married Arnold R. Kill, and he preceded her in death on April 19, 2010.
Tacie C. Davidson, 65, of 153 S. Main St., Minster, died on Monday, June 4, 2012, at St. Rita’s Medical Center in Lima. She had been ill for six months.
She was born on Feb. 8, 1947, in Celina, to Clarence (Pete) and Dorothy (Dottie) (Thien) Bomholt, and her father preceded her in death. Her mother survives in St. Rose.
On Feb. 27, 1982, she married William Joe Davidson, and he survives.
She is also survived by a daughter, Gina (Mike) Homan of Coldwater; five siblings.
Richard A. “Dick” Whyte, 73, formerly of St. Marys, died of natural causes on Monday, April 23, 2012, at his residence in North Fort Myers, Fla.
He was born on Aug. 8, 1938, in Dayton, to George and Ruth (Honican) Whyte, and they preceded him in death.
ST. MARYS — More than a dozen trucks remained on the scene early this morning as crews continued to battle a fire at ProPet that sparked Monday night.
“They had a fire in one of their grain bins,” St. Marys Fire Chief Joey Weaver told The Evening Leader at the scene early this morning.
“We got the call at about 9:30 p.m., and when we arrived, they had smoke on the third floor and the bin was hot.”
WAPAKONETA — Seventeen people, including two St. Marys residents, were arrested as part of a sweep by members of the Grand Lake Drug Task Force.
In a news release, Auglaize County Sheriff Al Solomon said the arrests, which took place Friday, were the result of indictments handed down by an Auglaize County grand jury. The charges stem from the alleged sales of heroin, crack and powder cocaine, M.D.P.V. (bath salts) and prescription medications.
