ST. MARYS — An Ohio Republican chastised Democrats in the Senate for failing to approve a single budget proposed this week.
ST. MARYS — From the many modes of transportation, including the canal, St. Marys River and the interurban to the many businesses and entertainment establishments, seven classes of local third-grade students had a hands-on experience Thursday morning with the history of their hometown.
St. Marys Intermediate School and Holy Rosary School third-grade students had their fourth annual walking tour through downtown St. Marys, giving the students a visual of what they had been talking about in class.
Donald P. Meyer, 43, of 6750 Luella St., Newport, died on Thursday, May 17, 2012, as a result of an automobile accident.
He was born on Dec. 6, 1968, in St. Marys, to Adolph “Sonny” and Joan (Utz) Meyer, who both survive in Newport. On May 26, 1990, he married Tammy Larger at St. Michael Catholic Church, Fort Loramie. She survives in Newport.
He is also survived by son and a daughter, Bradley and Rachel, both at home.
Barbara A. Egbert, 74, of New Bremen, died on Thursday, May 17, 2012, at 12:05 a.m. at her residence.
She was born on May 13, 1938, in Minster. She was the daughter of Steven and Ruby (Mackley) Oldiges. On May 25, 1957, she married Alvin Egbert, who died on Sept. 16, 2003.
Catherine Marcella Heil-Grundish, 93, formerly of 05724 Auglaize Co. Road 33-A, in St. Marys, died at 6:45 p.m. Wednesday, May 2, 2012, at Golden Living Center-Valley in St. Marys.
She was born on Nov. 8, 1918, in New Bremen, to Clarence and Catherine (Frenzer) Heil. On Feb. 22, 1941, she married Clair C. Grundish, who died on Feb. 3,1974.
